We Won't Call It Quits, We'll Call It The Start!
Update 564. Tavistock Special. #BeMorePorcupine.
I explained the new Dusty’s Film Series here:
https://dustymasterson.substack.com/p/empire-of-light-dustys-film-series
Here we go and here’s the first up! Please do suggest additions to the list 😊
The Banshees of Inisherin is a 2022 film directed, written, and co-produced by Martin McDonagh. Set on a remote fictional island off the west coast of Ireland in 1923, the film stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson as two lifelong friends who find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship, with severe consequences for both of them.
It was filmed on the beautiful island of Achill off the coast of County Mayo.
The film also stars a miniature donkey called Jenny!!
Let’s just call it quits!
We won’t call it quits! We’ll call it the start!
Thanks to two wonderful readers for suggested pieces.

UK - Lucy Connolly
I hope that most of my readers will have caught up with my latest One Off about Lucy Connolly.

Matt Goodwin has also now dealt with this shocking case on his substack.
This British woman should not be in jail
The shocking case of Lucy Connolly --and what it tells us about the free speech crisis

He concludes:
It’s not just about this young mother. It’s about the parents who, as I wrote last week, were arrested by no less than six police officers after daring to complain about their local school in a WhatsApp Group.
It’s about the more than one hundred Brits who have also been hurled into prison for what they wrote on social media in the aftermath of Southport, often in the privacy of their own homes, while the likes of disgraced BBC presenter Huw Edwards, found with indecent images of children, somehow managed to avoid prison time.
It’s about the very long list of British citizens who have now been arrested, marched off to their local police station and often charged for similar ‘speech crimes’, ranging from Royal Marine Jamie Michael, who was arrested and charged after sharing a video online criticising illegal migration and calling for peaceful protests, to veteran Darren Brady, who was arrested and handcuffed for ‘causing anxiety’ by posting an image of Pride flags arranged into a swastika, an attempt to protest against what he sees as the dogmatic and authoritarian nature of Pride celebrations.
It’s about the fact, also revealed this week, that British police authorities are now, shockingly, making around 12,000 (!) arrests every year in this country because of what people wrote online, on mail, or said on the telephone —much of which, we are told, made others feel “anxious”, “uncomfortable” or “emotionally harmed”.

UK - The Birth of the Tavistock
In an excellent two parter, Kellie-Jay Keen firstly deals with Domenico Di Ceglie who set up the Gender Identity Service (GIDs) at the Tavistock Clinic based on a handful of cases. In the video featured, he refers to the French artist Pierre Bonnard and to Chinese artist Ai Weiwei’s exhibition of sunflower seeds at the Tate Modern. These references bear no relation to ‘gender ideology’ and appear to simply imply that Di Ceglie is some kind of artist!! I have not listened to this video of him before and he sounds seriously deranged to me.
The second part features an interview by Owen Jones with Aiden Kelly, formerly of GIDS and now the director of Gender GP. I previously reported on a court case involving Gender GP and it is worth remembering what Sarah Phillimore wrote about that case:
What the court noted about Gender GP is horrifying. The court notes at para 33 that J’s only interaction with a ‘professional’ before being prescribed testosterone at 15 was with a person who has a diploma in counselling. There was no medical examination or blood testing. The court was unable to find a endocrinologist in the UK willing to assist the court as an expert witness but Dr Hewitt from Melbourne was eventually instructed. She was extremely critical of Gender GP (para 37) noting there was no skeletal bone age X ray and bone densitometry investigation, the psychological assessment was of ‘extremely poor quality’ and there is no record of counselling regarding the known risks of hormone treatment. But the most serious criticism related to the dose of testosterone provided = 100mg/4ml every 6 weeks (para 38). This was the level that would be administered to an adult only after a course of treatment starting at a much lower level.
‘Dr Hewitt advised ‘with confidence’ that ‘there is no professional society of paediatric endocrinologists internationally who would consider this anything other than a highly abnormal and frankly negligent approach’. She stated that ‘in Australia, the treatment provided by Gender GP would be unlawful’.’
Dr Hewitt was concerned that J was at risk of ‘sudden death’ due to thromboembolic disease, a thickening of the blood. A haematologist Dr Keenan advised that J’s blood test results were ‘effectively normal’ – but he compared her to an adult male, rather than considering her as a teenage girl. Dr Hewitt considered the dose of testosterone given to J as ‘massive’ and it could impact on the development of J’s bones and cause her to stop growing.

UK - Let Women Speak Nottingham
I reported on the most recent Nottingham event here:
https://dustymasterson.substack.com/p/women-will-speak-back-to-nottingham
That report included a photo of Kelly Dougall. Kelly has now done a vlog on her attendance at the event - which gives you a nice idea about what attending one of these LWS events involves ( you may catch fleeting glimpses of me in my trilby):
Pretend Medicine Round Up
As regular readers will know I now call ‘gender affirmative care’ pretend medicine. Anyway, Bernard Lane provides an excellent worldwide update on his substack:

Separately he lists out the kind of garbage that trans activists spout when trying to justify mutilating children:

New Zealand - Vaishnavi Sundar
Ms Sundar, the maker of the documentary Behind The Looking Glass has visited New Zealand. Our friend, Katrina Biggs was unwell and couldn’t make it 😩 However, she still writes about it on her substack, A B’Old Woman.
Vaishnavi Sundar visits New Zealand for a screening-tour of her doco 'Behind the Looking Glass' - which I missed.
I was looking forward to meeting Vaishnavi Sundar, but then got sick. I'm going to need counselling.
Apr 07, 2025
This week just gone, the Women’s Rights Party NZ hosted Vaishnavi Sundar on what I’m told was a highly successful tour screening her documentary Behind the Looking Glass. I say “what I’m told”, because I chose that week to be unwell. Crook timing indeed! However, I gleaned from the subsequent chat that it was very much enjoyed, as was Vaishnavi’s engaging personality.
For those who haven’t yet seen it, ‘Behind the Looking Glass’ is a first-of-its-kind documentary. It allows women to finally begin publicly saying what it’s like to have been in an established relationship with a man who decides to pretend he’s a woman. These relationships can oftentimes, but not always, be longstanding and have produced children. The women and children are expected to go along with the man’s pretence in order to keep him happy at home, and therefore less likely to become a public nuisance.
There is also the strange phenomenon of all sympathy being directed towards the man, because the anguish of his ‘dysphoria’ must be unimaginable. Until recently, little to no sympathy has gone to his partner and children. They’ve been expected to bear his self-inflicted change in silence, and allow him all the room he needs to centre his single-minded desires, which they should manage their lives around as best they can. After all, it’s not like he’s abusing them, and it’s only like a bit of harmless role-play, isn’t it? Sometimes, when women have put their own wellbeing before the man’s charade, it has resulted in splitting their children’s loyalties.
Of course, there’s much more to this than the brief synopsis above. In ‘Behind the Looking Glass’, we hear details about the havoc it can wreak on the women and children caught up in what can be a truly awful situation.
