Speaking of donkeys, did you see this about a film studies' module on critical analysis of donkeys in movies? https://news.exeter.ac.uk/faculty-of-humanities-arts-and-social-sciences/communications-drama-and-film/new-course-offers-first-ever-critical-analysis-of-the-representation-of-donkeys-in-film/

A study to discover the ‘lived experience’of donkeys. How long before they discover that donkeys have gender identities? 😁

🤣

I think the pronouns are hee and haw. 😁

Maybe Martin McDonagh would be interested in the course?

My friends live on Achill next to where the The Banshees was filmed. These film companies have some money!! They built the thatched pub that was used in the film and knocked it down afterwards. Jenny the donkey had her own trainer. The collie dog had a trainer. Several other houses were built and later demolished!! And so it goes on!

Apparently Jenny was very cantankerous and had to be bribed all the time with carrots!

NB Achill is very beautiful. Next stop America. A guy whose name I forget for the moment rowed across the Atlantic and was aiming for Wales. There was a welcome party ready in some Welsh port. He beached on Achill. He walked into the pub at the end of the beach and ordered a Guinness.

'Where are you from, mate?'

'I've just rowed from America.'

There is now a memorial plaque on the beach to commemorate it all.
