Lots of news again, dear readers, so I am splitting this into two parts.
I have been attempting to write a One Off on my general theory of the gender madness for some time. To finally achieve this I will temporarily halt the general news updates for about a week ( maybe less, depending on how I get on). I will continue to be following the news, interviews, discussions etc in the meantime. I will do a report on Bristol Let Women Speak this Sunday which I hope to attend. If any major news ( like the amazing Australian judgment I reported on yesterday) comes along I will report on that. For example, we are hoping to get the For Women Scotland Supreme Court judgment some time in April. I hope this next One Off ( like the last one about Lucy Connolly) will be of use to Terfs in general so I hope my paid subscribers will tolerate me once again sending it out to everyone. At a time when reason is desperately needed, Maxime Bernier has become one of only a few voices of reasons in Canada. “We are not at risk. We are a sovereign country,” the leader of the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) told me a few weeks ago.
Seeing an opportunity in hysterical claims that the country is “under attack” from its neighbour, the Liberal Party has rebranded as Team Canada, rallying the country around a patriotism it treated with disdain just a couple of years prior. Rather than lead with prudence, Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre has echoed the anti-Trump rhetoric. The propaganda machine is in full swing.
With an election coming in a few weeks, Canadians have been offered little more than political theatre. The two parties competing for power seem to have joined forces against an invented American enemy, allowing Canadians a distraction from the very real problems that exist in their own country. How have our memories been wiped clean so quickly?
Just a few months ago, the ruling Liberal Party appeared dead in the water. Trudeau had become the most hated Prime Minister in Canadian history and calls for his resignation were deafening. By June last year, polling showed that a majority of Canadians wanted him to step down. He couldn’t even go out in public without being screamed at by angry citizens.
Even former Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who had avoided criticising Trudeau to date, said the government had “denigrated” the country. Repeating what many of us had noticed, Harper said that Trudeau managed to stay in power thanks to a “media conglomerate” that “erased his every error” and “misrepresented his opposition”.
He was right. The already tiny Canadian media landscape was unabashedly biased in favour of Trudeau’s government, and against not just Poilievre’s Conservative Party, but any Canadian who did not subscribe to Trudeau-approved narratives. As the only party to mount a serious and unapologetic challenge to issues viewed as untouchable in Canada, the PPC was almost entirely erased from the conversation. Bernier was taking on many of the sacred cows politically homeless Canadians have been desperate to see addressed — things like gender identity ideology, climate change alarmism, and mass immigration. The PPC is a small party, but one Poilievre might take a page from: if he genuinely wants to lead the country down a different path.
Canada became evermore censorial under Trudeau’s reign, as dissent against the Covid mandates, gender identity ideology, and unevidenced claims about the supposed discovery of “mass graves” at old residential school sites was framed as dangerous hate speech.

Fury as two transgender players compete in UK Women’s Pool Championship Final

The UK Women’s Pool Championship Final was contested by two transgender players on Sunday, sparking furious protests and online backlash. The tournament was subject to protests and a social media storm after Harriet Haynes and Lucy Smith, who were both born biologically male, defeated a line up of female-born opponents to reach the final.
The Ultimate Pool Women’s Pro Series Event 2, which took place in Wigan, saw protests hit the venue. Inside the venue, protestors shouted: “He’s a man and we stand with Lynne Pinches” — one of Britain’s top female pool players who turned down her first ever professional contract in February.
Protestors inside the venue on Sunday held up signs saying “Save Women’s Sport” as Haynes walked past.
Pinches said she did so because of her belief that transgender players have an unfair competitive advantage. She also said that she rejected a place on the Ultimate Pool Tour, which features the game’s top 32 players.
Pinches said that an apparent u-turn by the sport’s governing body and main promoters regarding transgender policy was the “final nail in the coffin,” adding: “I was done then.”
Haynes is no stranger to controversy as the issue of trans athletes in the world of pool continues to be subject to legal challenges and fierce debate. Last year, Irish billiards champion Kim O’Brien made headlines after she forfeited her place in the European Pool Championships final, refusing to play against her transgender competitor, Haynes.
Lucy Smith meanwhile, Haynes’s transgender competitor, became the Women’s Pro Series Champion in September 2024. Comments underneath a photo of Smith holding the trophy, posted by Ultimate Pool, were disabled on social media after some social media users reacted angrily.
In August 2023, the World Eightball Pool Federation (WEPF) and its promoters Ultimate Pool Group, made a decision not to allow transgender players to compete against “naturally born women,” however it later reversed that decision — saying they would adhere to the guidelines set by the International Olympic Committee and the World Professional Snooker and Billiards Association.

Psychiatry is not enough
Independent MP Frank Pangallo has called for a more searching review of the youth gender clinic at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in the state of South Australia (SA).
On Friday, Women’s and Children’s Health Network chief executive Rebecca Graham cited an issue with pre-treatment assessment of young people at the Gender Diversity clinic and announced an internal review of uncertain scope.
Mr Pangallo, whose campaign for an SA parliamentary inquiry into gender medicalisation of minors was frustrated last year by the state’s centre-left Premier Peter Malinauskas, told GCN he feared “another whitewash.”
Mr Pangallo, a member of the upper house of the SA parliament, said the review of the clinic should scrutinise the assessment process for bias towards the contentious “gender-affirming” treatment model.
“The LGBTQ+ activists will now be lobbying hard to have the review watered down,” he said.
“The federal and state government are refusing to put the interests of young people with gender dysphoria first in this uncontrolled social experiment.”

The Kelley Loving Act (HB25-1312) passed a Colorado legislative committee on party lines yesterday. If enacted, it would “define deadnaming and misgendering as discriminatory acts in the ‘Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act’, and prohibit these discriminatory acts in places of public accommodation.”
In other words, it would be illegal for a spa to throw a man out of the area where women are nude if he claims to have a ‘gender identity.’ It would be illegal for your grandmother to complain about a man in the public pool shower area if he said he was a woman. Colorado would fine or even prosecute a Game Stop employee who called a man in makeup “sir.”
All of these things have already happened. What Colorado Democrats want to do now is enshrine them as “protections” in law for the sacred gender class. Democrats have given up on working class politics because they have adopted the luxury belief that human sex is not binary. Now they want to impose their worship and ritual practices on everyone who is not a member of their woo cult. They know that the public is getting wise. They know they are running out of time.
Noncompliance will be punished. Democrats are all about punishing the noncompliant, right now. “I suspect it will pass,” Erin Friday, director of Protect Kids Colorado, said of the bill on X. “So we must keep fighting.” Resist, do not comply.

Disc golf, also known as frisbee golf, is a flying disc sport in which players throw a disc at a target, using rules similar to golf.

Abigail Wilson, a professional disc golf athlete, walked off the course during the Music City Open in Nashville yesterday over her concerns about a trans-identifying male player in the competition. She says she was warned against speaking out.
When she stepped up to compete, she bent her arm back to throw, then lowered her disc and walked away from the tee area.
She said:
“Females must be protected in our division. This is unfair. I refuse to play.”

The problem with the Ultimate Pool competition is that the two finalists were men not that they were transgender - women who identify as transgender would have been ok in the competition. A headline that two transgender players were in the final is misleading since it doesn’t “identify” whether they are transwomen or transmen! Some of the media reporting is so sloppy.
