Great list Dusty. I’ve seen most of them and agree that they’re worthy choices despite being disappointed that my favourite isn’t on there 😁 ( A Man for all Seasons). I’d forgotten Silent Running which I love and which should have been on my original list of favourites. I recently watched The Dig which I really enjoyed about the finding of the treasures at Sutton Hoo and the woman who owned the land.
Great list, Dusty. If you are happy to include a documentary can I suggest Maiden. It’s about Tracy Edward’s and her all-women crew sailing the Whitbread round the world race
Please check out The Long Riders (1980) directed by Walter Hill (director of The Warriors, 48 Hours and Deadwood, among others.) It's my favorite "Western," though it's not exactly that. It's about the rise and fall of the (Jesse) James-Younger gang. The authentic-sounding 19th century music by Ry Cooder is incredible. It stars 4 sets of real life brothers - the Quaids, Keaches, Carradines and Guests, including Christopher Guest! Writing and acting are superb. It also features what is to me the most amazing shootout scene in the history of movies, and before I saw it I never cared about shootouts. I've watched it at least 6 times.
Hi Dusty, My husband and I and Quentin Tarantino all consider Jaws the best movie ever made. Spielberg's genius is demonstrated beyond question. Please add it. I also suggest Tampopo, a Japanese film and of course, Casablanca.
However you can never have too much of Casablanca so, since I have already got to D in the film series, Casablanca will be up next at you and your husband's special request 😊

Have added in The Dig 😊

Great suggestion, thanks, I have added it to the list. And I must watch it myself!!!
We are going through it in alphabetical order so will take a while to get to it!!
Dusty
Well see if it is better than my favourite shoot out which is in the 2010 re-make of True Grit.
Haha, can't wait to hear your analysis
👍
Ah, gotcha. Does the definite article count?
I'll try to think of some "A" movies
I will count it as an 'L' I'm afraid. Tonight we have arrived at The Deer Hunter so you might like to think of some 'E' movies 😃
Dusty
Don't forget to check the current list which is just updated with The Long Riders 😁
Please note we are pausing the film series in June to have Terf Month (to counteract Pride Month) where we will feature great speeches.
Dusty
The Ipcress File
Excellent suggestion, Ange.
Have added it to the list.😃
Thanks
Dusty
There are so many brilliant films! Yay!
Started tonight, Sarah, with The Banshees of Inisherin. Recommended!😃

Hi Laurie
Thanks for the great suggestions and will add in Jaws and Tampopo.
At the turn of the year I reached update 500 and we had a best film ever competition...and Casablanca won!!
