I’m completely in agreement about the GRA, would love to see it repealed without replacement but can’t see it happening. It’s insane that people can change the truth of their sex which is recorded at birth, having been in existence since the moment of conception. At the very least, your birth certificate should stay as a true record with a kind of false certificate being issued for ‘every day’ purposes for a transsexual to avoid embarrassment. (And only a transsexual).
Absolutely, Self ID under a different guise will be sneaked in by Labour so that’s going to be the big battle.
The Tories must strengthen the meaning of sex in the Equality Act ( which should stay and be implemented correctly) as much as possible before they get kicked out. We can only hope that Labour don’t get a big majority and that some of the cowards in the Party start to show a bit of backbone and stand with Rosie Duffield, although I can’t see that happening either.
Time has certainly got away from the Tories. What a waste of an 80 seat majority.
