Really interesting pieces, thanks Dusty. In particular, this from Malcolm Clark…” The leading figures of the Scottish Enlightenment viewed the Union as a bulwark against the excesses of their country’s past”. That was certainly true when Sunak stopped Self ID in Scotland but it won’t be true for much longer. In fact, are we going to see a revival of Self ID alongside it’s English equivalent under Labour, as well as equivalent hate speech laws here?

I hope Kevin Lister appeals.

Are you going to wear your Thought Criminal T shirt in Edinburgh? Advertising the fact that you are breaking the law in your head, may not be a good look in front of the Stasi. 😄

Hi TT

Andrew's piece was excellent but Malcolm's was even better. For example his take on the woke excesses of the SNP including hate crime being to disguise their complete failure to achieve the purpose they were set up for ie independence despite being in power in Scotland for 17 years!!

Also very interesting that, even before they made the switch from the LGB to the T and the Q, Stonewall were already completely embedded in the processes of the police.

In retrospect the Westminster Government should have exercised the Scotland Act on this piece of legislation as well since it clearly has implications for the whole of the UK!

I have read Kevin's judgment and conferred with my wife on it and will include our assessment in part 2 though I look forward to seeing the assessments from our Terf lawyer brigade such as Dennis or Sarah P. He needs now (which he didn't do before for some reason) to get to the FSU and speak to them urgently about an appeal.

At the moment I am taking the wise advice of Helen Staniland when she occasionally says 'F*** it' (needs to be said in Welsh accent, of course 😊) and will be wearing the T shirt 😎

However this is Scotland so I will probably need a jumper - unfortunately Posie doesn't do men's Thought Criminal hoodies 🤣

Could be the first person arrested because of a T shirt but I should think there will be a wide range of candidates amongst the T shirts and hoodies and flags and banners😊 I want to have a cell with Menno 😊

Avanti

Yes, I agree, Malcolm’s piece was interesting from a historical perspective too. I was shocked at how far back the Stonewall influence on ‘hate speech’ goes. The wording of that snippet where they embed the idea that offence is dependent on a person taking offence rather than a crime having been committed, is a bit of an eye opener. It just shows how this has been creeping up on us unawares….on purpose I’m sure.

Strength in numbers, I’m sure you won’t be the only dissident but if you get to speak to Posie you could ask her to extend her range of disgraceful slogans. 😁 A few choice pronoun suggestions would be good……

I have been to 3 LWS events but my wife has been to 5 and at one of those she had a brief chat with Posie. I haven't managed to get anywhere near Posie so have had chats instead with Menno, Glinner, Helen Joyce, Aja the Empress and lots of lovely 'ordinary' Terfs 😊 As you know, my wife accuses me of being a groupie😂 However if one of us gets to talk to Posie we will pass on your suggestion. 😊 Let us know if you have any specific suggestions 😊

I would suggest F and Off as my pronouns but you might take it the wrong way 😄

Groupie is a good way to describe it but that’s only because we’re jealous! I am anyway.

Excellent 😂

I will have to practise taking selfies on my phone. When I was trying to do one with Helen J and not being successful she just took the phone off me and did it for me 😂
