Surrogacy has no place in a civilised country. It has to end.

How on Earth is Wes Streeting managing to keep going? The pressure on him to relent must be intense!

Agreed re surrogacy, Jeremy.

Yes, Wes is doing well so far. His next big test is clinical trials!

To quote the bible, he is a voice crying in the wilderness!!

I must educate myself re surrogacy , I’ve never given it much/any thought to be quite honest

Hi Petal

I'm not an expert either but you could begin with Surrogacy Concern who drafted the template letter:

I’m very cynical , in case you didn’t know that already ! But I just wonder if the reemergence of the reporting of the rapist gangs ( which has been going on for decades ) and the ( new to me ) concerns about surrogacy are going to be used as a cover up for something else the tra Fannie’s have been up to ?

Ah fuck me being sensible again , mon the wee pandas 🐼

Hi Petal

Cynicism is handy for a Terf!!!!

EDI Jester blames the wokesters for the raping gangs scandal not getting dealt with sooner

I am not sure surrogacy has hit the headlines. Surrogacy Concern has done this template letter due to Law Commission proposals but I don't think that the MSM are picking this up necessarily (?).

There has to be more to come, TT. I'm originally from Rotherham (I think I've mentioned before), and know the South Yorkshire towns very well. Doncaster, Barnsley and Sheffield are all delighted that Rotherham is deflecting attention from them, because they are at least as bad. By extension, the West Yorkshire towns and cities are unlikely to be any different, and so on, in a widening radius. The ones we've seen so far could well be merely the tip of a very big iceberg.

I hope you’re right. I can’t understand why the focus is on one or two towns. This is far more widespread. We need some kind of information gathering exercise to get an idea of the extent of the problem.

We really do. It's why (successive) government inaction is so frustrating.

The Tories had an open goal, since Labour councils seem to be heavily implicated. It's another part of the whole puzzle why they didn't take it.

What on earth is there to say about the grooming gang scandal and the people who’ve covered it up ‘for the sake of diversity’, or ignored it or refused to accept that it’s happening.

Thanks Dusty. Great work as ever. I’ll have to listen to the Peterson in the morning but the rest is really interesting.

Thank Siobhan for the letter template Dusty. I’ve been very anti surrogacy for years for a variety of reasons. Children are not commodities to be bought and sold, heartbreaking as it is for couples who can’t conceive for whatever reason, gay couples for example. I’m sorry if that offends some people. The more it happens, the closer we get to the transhumanist dream of people being free from reproduction and the Marxist dream of the destruction of society and the family.

Love the endpieces and it’s always good to see the porcupines.

Claire Fox has also now done a very good piece on the grooming gangs scandal https://www.academyofideas.uk/p/the-grooming-gangs-scandal-shames?publication_id=1010287&post_id=154132009&isFreemail=true&r=20xc5g&triedRedirect=true&utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email

Enjoy Peterson. I'd be interested to know what you, as an ex teacher, think about it.

Will pass on your thanks to Siobhan and I agree with all that you say about surrogacy - in fact ( as often) you put it much better than I could 😆

Great endpieces, Liz.

Thanks Dusty, I subscribe to the Academy of Ideas.I knew you did too so I don’t forward them.

Re surrogacy. I’ve had long discussions with one of my daughters who is friends with a gay couple who’ve got two children by surrogacy, both lovely people and caring parents. What I said to her was this…..at some stage the children will wake up in the middle of the night and wonder why their mother sold them, why she wanted money more than them. Adoption is entirely different, there’s always a reason which the child can perhaps come to terms with. Surrogacy breaks my heart although I realise that there are different circumstances when surrogacy takes place within a family.

Hi TT

I forgot you subscribe! It's a good piece isn't it. Her interview with Sunil is very good.

You really hit the nail on the head regarding the difference between surrogacy and adoption. Even adoption is really difficult. A friend who I used to work with years ago and who could not have children adopted a boy. Eventually he went off the rails ( through no fault of hers) and had to be taken back into care causing enormous heartache to my friend. And surrogacy is many steps beyond that!!!!

Dusty

NB The cat has obviously gone off the rails but we're keeping him regardless 🤣

One small example is he has a cat flap but he seems to think that that is beneath his dignity and is for 'tradecats' and will sit by a door until we let him in or out.😁

He will use it in the middle of the night when we are, very inconsiderately, asleep.

I’ve not watched the podcasts yet - I shall gear myself up for them .

Katrina’s bit on the NZ woman wearing the t shirt ( I want one ) made me laff - when my ex arsewipe tried to compare himself to a handsome sleb/actor , I used to say “not even if I squint “😂

There was a piece on GMB news the other day about the grooming gangs - how this has been allowed to go on for so long is beyond me , someone did say and I can’t remember who but they don’t want to offend the Muslim community ……. The young woman who was interviewed stated that after she’d appeared on GMB news that the police tracked her down through various addresses and asked if any part of it ‘was consensual’ - she was FIVE years old when the abuse began . Tommy Robinson , like him or loathe him has been going on about this for years

I can recommend Twenty Murders ,it’s a good read , but it’s says a hell of a lot that Drew has to remain anonymous for her own safety !!

Thank you Liz - mon the wee pandas 🐼

Ballad of Roy was great , I’d not heard that before

In solidarity with the porcupines I’ve changed my pic - not a porcupine but you get my drift

Well now that my essay is finished !!!!!

Day 5 and not an eff word in sight , I’m beginning to weaken ….

Thanks for recommendation re Twenty Murders.

What an incredible interview with Katherine Birbalsingh. So much common sense which so many have forgotten. Everyone should see this, particularly those in education.

A good education is simple- fair but firm discipline which is based on love of children and the desire to do what’s best for them combined with high expectations of their behaviour and their desire to learn. Children need boundaries in order to feel secure and they need to be taught facts so that they are armed for life. Without firm discipline the bullies and disrupters take control leaving the rest floundering, so that must come first. And that applies equally to society as we are seeing all around us today. I couldn’t agree more with her, on so many levels, despite the fact that many years ago, when I was a good little leftie, I heard that she was a right wing extremist and just swallowed it whole!

What she highlighted for me was that so many problems have arisen because the right has lost sight of its core values. The right has become scared of being called the nasty ones instead of standing up for common sense values. They’ve ended up being watered down lefties. Conservatism with a small c needs to reassert itself and take pride in itself if children and society are to be rescued from the narcissistic selfishness of intersectionalism and the freedom to do what you like with no regard for others. Thanks for posting this Dusty, I really enjoyed it and it clarified many of my own thoughts.

I was disappointed to hear that your poor cat may be left waiting for someone to open the door. I really think you need to organise shift work in your house. 😄

I'm glad you enjoyed it , TT, and I also thought it was extraordinary. What was great was that Jordan P had obviously spent quite some time at the school and could say, from his first hand experience, how well it all worked. For example, him relating that the children were competing with each other to put their hands up and answer the question! In passing you will note that she does not have anything to do with critical race theory or gender ideology!

Her principles should be applied in every school it seems to me and , indeed, many of them would assist in wider society!

The cat has a very piercing miaow so if we are in and awake we normally realise fairly quickly that he is at a door. I should imagine that, if the miaowing doesn't work, he quickly realises he will have to use the tradecat entrance!🤣

Dusty

Indeed, I could have written an essay based on what she said and as I’ve said before, many times, the teaching of gender ideology is creating untold psychological problems which we’ve yet to see the results of.

Well done cat 😂
