The news, analysis and interviews are still flooding in to Dusty Towers so I am splitting this update into two, dear readers.
We are now in Terf Month ( to counteract Queer Month) and we are featuring great speeches on the theme of women’s rights. Please keep those suggestions coming in. Please send a link if you can. Thanks to those readers who have already sent in great suggestions.
Next up is not a speech as such but an interview on Spectator TV from about two years ago about Pride Month involving a perhaps unlikely couple, namely Julie Bindel and Douglas Murray. However they agree totally on what a perverted, disgusting, misogynistic disgrace Pride Month has become. “The hellish clown car” as Douglas calls it.
I have said before that I am Accrington Stanley to Glinner’s Arsenal! For those who don’t follow UK football that is a lowly club compared to a very famous club. Despite this, I was very pleased to just get to 500 subscribers. However, only a small proportion of my subscribers are paid. I’d ask, “What the hell is wrong with straight women?”—but we all know the answer, don’t we? It’s the same currency problem every time: social compliance, traded like gold dust for approval. And nowhere is this grubby little marketplace more visible than at Pride.
You’ve seen them—high-pitched squeals, glitter glued to their “sweet” little faces, clutching iced coffees like they're about to drop a TED Talk on compassion. Pigtails optional, “Protect the Chuckies” t-shirts mandatory. It’s like they’re in uniform—members of the Church of Virtue, there to collect their sainthood tokens from gay men in harnesses and autogynephiles in stilettos. All hail the evolved straight woman: patron saint of faux allyship.
Pride used to mean something. A protest. A declaration. Now? It’s a rainbow-drenched corporate pageant with all the gravitas of a TikTok dance challenge. Fetish on full display, kids waving flags next to men with their genitals poking through mesh bodysuits, and a soundtrack of blaring validation for every identity you’ve ever seen invented on Tumblr.
But still, the straight women come. Flocking. Preening. Floating along the parade route like smug ducks in glittery bondage. Because let’s be honest—nothing screams “I’m a good person” like aligning yourself with “oppressed” gay men, especially when they come accessorised with unicorn ears and a fondness for “Yaaas queen!” It's allyship as costume party. And the social currency? Off the charts.

A new open letter signed by over 350 academics and clinicians criticizes the British government for acknowledging the reality of biological sex.

Last month, over 350 academics, clinicians, and activists signed an open letter titled “Biology is not binary.” Addressed to Bridget Phillipson, the United Kingdom’s Minister for Women and Equalities, its purpose was to denounce recent legal and policy developments in the U.K. that reassert the biological basis of sex in law.
The letter frames these developments as a threat to people who identify as transgender or non-binary. But in doing so, the signatories advance an anti-scientific ideology at odds with reality.
The letter was signed by some of the most influential proponents of sex denialism—the belief that “male” and “female” are socially constructed concepts rather than objective biological classifications. Among them were Sari van Anders, Canada 150 Research Chair at Queen’s University; Simón(e) Sun, a postdoctoral fellow at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory; and Anne Fausto-Sterling, an emerita professor at Brown University best known for claiming that humans come in “five sexes.” These are not fringe figures—they are credentialed authorities, denying one of biology’s most fundamental truths.
The signatories express opposition to the U.K. Supreme Court’s April 2025 ruling in For Women Scotland v. The Scottish Ministers, which affirmed that the words “woman” and “sex” in the 2010 Equality Act refer to biological sex, not gender identity. Following the ruling, the nation’s Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) updated its guidance [ Dusty - in fact it is under consultation at the moment - see last update] to clarify that institutions should not admit trans-identifying males (so-called “trans women”) into female-only spaces such as bathrooms, hospital wards, and prisons.
The letter’s problems begin with its title: “Biology is not binary.” By using the word “biology” instead of “sex,” the authors obscure the actual subject under discussion. Biology is indeed full of variation—traits like height, skin tone, and hormone levels span a spectrum. But some biological traits really are binary. Sex, defined by the type of gamete an organism has the function to produce—sperm or ova—is one of them. There is no third gamete and therefore no third sex.

The Tribunal case brought by the directors of the film Adult Human Female, Deirdre O’Neill and Michael Wayne against Universities and College Union (which the directors are members of) for participating in getting two screenings of the film at Edinburgh University forcibly cancelled has been lost. Bad luck to them and they are considering their next steps.

Today’s RNZ [ Radio New Zealand] story “Teenager starves to death alone in emergency accommodation” is the tragic story of a family torn apart by the transgender cult.
It is also the story of our health and education system, in thrall to gender ideology, undermining a mentally unwell girl’s parents and ignoring the recommendations of her psychiatrist. There was an inexcusable failure of oversight from professionals in education, social welfare, and health who were supposed to be responsible for her care.
Even after her death, it is notable that some entrusted with her care have been unwilling to accept Vanessa was a girl, using “they” or “his” pronouns in the RNZ story.
Although, as Vanessa’s mother reported to RGE, there is no doubt that anorexia was the immediate cause of her death, “We now know they [government agencies] were not providing proper care and focused on Vanessa’s gender identity, ignoring all of her well-established other mental health conditions. We have learned some of the professionals didn’t even know about Vanessa’s long-standing anorexia nervosa diagnosis.”
Anorexia is recognised universally, by all mental health professionals, to be a 'deadly' issue where starvation to the point of death is always the aim of the sufferer. The sufferers do not eat of their own volition.
“Knowing and acknowledging these stark facts about anorexia, not one professional, not one counsellor, not one adult in this system managed to do the one most important act of all....simply take the measure of meeting with her,” says Vanessa’s mother.
“Taking the word of an anorexic 'over the phone' or 'skyping' was woefully inadequate, malpractice and perhaps even malfeasance. It was clear from her body in January 2023 that Vanessa’s physical and mental deterioration through continued weight loss would have been obvious to any competent responsible person who had seen her in person in the weeks or months before her death.”

Norway | Gender medicalisation of the body is a form of “identity extremism”, according to Margrethe Voll Storaas, a research fellow in philosophy at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. In Samtiden magazine, she argues that it should not have taken an inquiry by the Norwegian Healthcare Investigation Board to see the folly of the country’s 2020 “gender-affirming” treatment guidelines.
She writes: “For six years, there has been an official process of depathologisation of trans medicine: a cultural process that removes the psychiatric framework surrounding patient needs that, until now, have been viewed as mental illness, with good reason. When the body feels so fundamentally wrong that a person seeks medical help to look like the biological sex they are not, or as if they have no gender, we find ourselves outside the realm of normal psychology.
“Originally, depathologisation meant that diversity of expression was not pathological. Most people can agree on that. The problem arises when medically dependent body modification is considered merely an expression. [The Norwegian LGBT lobby] FRI writes: ‘Some people change their bodies in order to express their gender in other ways.’ This touches on a deeper view of the body.
“When we declared homosexuality healthy, acceptance was right—healthy and consensual sexuality should never have been pathologised. But homosexuals never asked to block puberty in order to ‘have time to figure out’ whether they were homosexual or not. They never asked for medication ‘to be themselves’ or to be ‘corrected’ through surgery. That is the demand in the trans struggle.”

Something I've become very aware of over the last couple of weeks is that someone declaring themself "trans" is immediately excluded from proper mental health provision. Willoughby, "Sophie Molly", Mulvaney etc are all in obvious dire need of psychiatric input - I've nursed people with less florid symptoms. Vanessa, mentioned in this update is another example of the absolute failure of psychiatry and psychology.
Well done Accrington Stanley, 500 followers is brilliant!
KJK is right as ever. The Queering of education and the targeting of children can only be described as evil. And I almost feel that the harsh sentence meted out to Lucy Connolly is also evil. She’s not a danger to society, there were mitigating circumstances and far worse offenders often get off with a warning or a fine. She’s being used as a scapegoat, a warning to the rest of us to keep silent and I blame Starmer for his ‘incitement’ to harsh sentencing. What a cruel and shameful way to treat a mother with an unblemished record. I couldn’t despise Labour more if I tried.
