A remark: XY don't always give a male phenotype - a few turn out as women, most of them infertile. The condition is called Androgen Insensitive Syndrome. There's also Swyers Syndrome - also women with XY. There are - much to my own surprise earlier this week - also men with XX, they have a part of the Y chromosome attached to one of the Xs (or another chromosome) and are also infertile, but are phenotypical men. Its even more complicated than this, but all in all: we can't really rely on XY/XX. In the end it all comes down to this: has a person a male or a female phenotype, has they gone through male puberty or not? It would be necessary with additional information to the test if you have a DSD and the "wrong" chromosomes. Alternatively, you can make some kind of strength test - or just look at people. We'll, that would only work for people based in reality ...
I'm permanently amazed by the degrees of self deception it must take for people to look at Khelif and claim "it's a woman! She has a vagina/a cervix/a uterus! She's a woman, bigot! You're a nazi!"
Thanks Birgitte, very useful explanation. I’m assuming that those syndromes are extremely rare so for the most part a chromosome test combined with testosterone levels and human judgement are going to be pretty reliable tests for sports.
Excellent work, Dusty; very comprehensive and detailed. I don’t know how you do it. Glad to see Malcolm skewering the suicide myth & the 🦊 killer get his comeuppance. The Jester’s latest video is about the NHS response to Cass; it looks very promising. Thanks for all your hard work, Dusty. Will share.
Yes, me too; I don’t see how any trial would be ethical.
Thanks for some excellent pieces again Dusty, my list of references for peaking purposes is growing very long.😄
Hilarious to see Maugham get another custard pie in the face. Who on earth would trust him to win a case for them.
I’m rather pleased that twitter is called X at the moment #XX and lovely to see the porcupines again.

You're welcome, TT and delighted the references are useful.
The Fox Killer loses most of his cases but people still give him money!!
I understand that there is a bit of an XX campaign gathering force 😊

Enjoyed reading this time as well! Thank you ❤

You’re welcome, Birgitte and thanks very much for the clarification.
The TRAs are never put off by facts and reality are they! See Malcolm Clark’s piece about the suicide myth.

Thanks Liz and thanks as ever for sharing and for your great endpieces😊
Yes the Jester’s latest is great though I am concerned about these clinical trials they are talking about
