I wasn’t present at the last LWS visit to Bristol but my wife was with her friend and has described to me how difficult it was ( to say the least). The police allowed the trans rights activists to completely surround the LWS attendees. They were making enormous amounts of noise and hurling abuse. See here:

This time around I went to the event and my wife didn’t - she didn’t feel up to it. The police were out in force and held the howling TRAs at bay though they were still making a ridiculous amount of noise. Radical Cartoons was the main organiser of the event and has lived in Bristol for all her life and told me she had never seen so many police at such an event. As well as Radical, I met Sarah Phillimore and lots of other lovely Terfs. I spent some time in the crowd and some time wandering around outside the main circle taking loads of photos. See the photos below. Some great banners. So I had to re-listen to the speeches on the train home. Great speeches as ever albeit the sound on the livestream was often difficult to hear.
I was wearing my Thought Criminal T shirt and trilby and appear behind the speaker at about 45 mins when I was taking a photo of the woman with the wonderful big black XX banner.
Regarding the chants of ‘Posie Parker is a fascist’, these moronic and offensive people need some education about the Nazis and real fascism and then they would understand that it is they who are acting like fascists.
I enjoyed the Bob Marley song!! We ended with a rousing chorus of ‘Women’s Rights’.
I was really hungry so didn’t go to the pub after but, having put my jumper over my Thought Criminal T shirt just in case I met any of the nutters, went and found an Italian restaurant 😊
The event was a great success. Well done to Radical and the other local organisers and, of course, to Posie and the national team.
The woman who sang Bob Marley’s Get Up, Stand Up 😁
Police holding back the TRAs
The Women’s Rights Anthem ( get learning, Terven 😊)
Don’t know who this is? 😄
Who is she? 😆

What a great day 😊
