UPDATE 100!!! FIREWORKS!! CHAMPAGNE CORKS POP!!
OK, I haven’t got any champagne but I’ve poured a beer :)
After perambulating my addled brain, I alighted on the strong female lead choice.
A lion who is a coward but that doesn’t mean he’s suddenly a lioness.
A tin man who has no heart but he’s still a man.
And Dorothy is Dorothy, of course!
We are lucky to have lots of great Wizards on the gender critical side: Glinner, Menno, Dennis, Clive, Arty and many more. :)
Number 14 in the Addled Brain Series!
Citizens Mal-Advice!
Ewan Somerville in The Telegraph ( Citizens Advice says gender 'is more complex than "men" and "women"', after pay gap revealed 01 May) reports:
Citizens Advice has blamed its worsening gender pay gap on “non-binary” identities being omitted.
The national charity, where women make up nearly three-quarters of the workforce, has a median gender gap of 16.1 per cent between men and women’s hourly earnings - above the national level of 14.9 per cent. Under the law, all employers of 250 or more staff must reveal their figures annually.
The organisation has received £290 million in taxpayer cash over the last two years.
….
However, the proportion of women on the lowest salaries rose by three per cent to almost nine in 10, while the number in the upper mid-pay quartile decreased.
About 90 per cent of the charity’s vital Witness Service staff for court evidence appearances - consisting of a quarter of its 8,500 employees - are female, and most of them earn the lowest salaries.
A lengthy section at the top of the organisation’s latest pay-gap report for the year to April 2022 states: “Gender identity is often assumed from the sex assigned at birth. However, gender is more complex than ‘men’ and ‘women’.
“There are many people who don’t fit into these binary categories; for example, people who are non-binary or intersex. We also recognise that a person’s sex or gender does not always align with the sex and/or gender they were assigned at birth.”
I don’t have to make the desired derisive comments to that myself because I can rely on two members of the House of Lords. The article continues:
Baroness Jenkin of Kennington, who co-founded Women2Win with Mrs May, a campaign to boost the number of female Tory MPs, told the Telegraph: “A move away from binary reporting would erase women.
“Rather than pushing gender ideology, Citizens Advice would do well to get its own house in order and bring its above-average, surprisingly high pay gap down.”
Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne [ Dusty - who has previously attended and spoken at a Let Women Speak event in Hyde Park] said: “Citizens Advice is firing in the wrong direction. The pay gap that the whole world worries about is between men and women.
“As a former vice-chair of the Conservative Party with special responsibility for women, I would not have given myself the chance of surviving if I had told Mrs [Margaret] Thatcher - my boss - that women included men.
“I would have been politely booted out of No 10, like a dead duck, which she herself had shot. It’s Citizens mal-advice for this one clearly.”
Hear, hear!
It is not the first time that Citizens Advice has landed in hot water over its trans stance.
Last year, some staff revolted over an “ideological instruction”to wear gender pronoun badges from Dame Clare Moriarty, its £170,000-a-year chief executive [ Dusty - gissajob!]who was previously among the most senior civil servants in Whitehall.
Citizens Advice no doubt has to give advice, amongst other things, on the protected characteristic of sex under the Equality Act but that may prove difficult if they think there are more than two genders!!! Beggars belief!
Royal College Needs A Psychiatrist
Today EDI concentrates on an article in The Critic by Yasmin Zenith that looks at the capture of the Royal College of Psychiatry who are (of course) Stonewall Champions and looks at the brave fight back from one Dr Lenny Cornwall - Barry also discusses merit in science which is kind of on point!
Yasmin Zenith’s article, ‘A Question of Ideology’ is here: https://thecritic.co.uk/A-question-of-ideology/
De-Transitioners
Mr Menno has posted on his You Tube channel an excellent video by Sex Matters which he helped put together, entitled ‘Gender medicine is harming young people’.
This features interviews with de-transitioners ( some of which those who have watched Affirmation Generation will recognise). I have said this before but I think showing a video like this to a troubled teenager may actually assist them. See my previous post on this issue: https://dustymasterson.substack.com/p/affirmation-generation
Helen Joyce and Free Speech
Jay Fantom concentrates on an excellent article by Helen Joyce (also in The Critic) about free speech, entitled ‘Not so Keen on free speech’ (geddit!?).
The article is here: https://thecritic.co.uk/issues/may-2023/not-so-keen-on-free-speech/
The Countess
The excellent group the Countess is a group of men and women whose mission is to promote and protect the best interests of the women and children of Ireland. This was a cherished ideal of the founders of the Irish State, including their namesake, Countess Markiewicz, a minister in the first Dáil and the first female cabinet minister in Europe.
Currently, their primary focus is on reinstating the “medical model” for those who wish to change their gender. In the 2015 Gender Recognition Act, the “medical model” was rescinded in favour of the “self-ID model”. Prior to 2015, it was necessary to undergo psychological and medical assessment/ intervention in order to be granted a Gender Recognition Certificate, allowing one to live and be recognised under the law as the opposite gender. The 2015 Act changed the medical requirement to a simple declaration of one’s own sincere intention to live as the opposite gender. There is no longer any requirement to be assessed, and one can simply apply for a Gender Recognition Certificate online to be legally recognised as the opposite sex. This process is known as “self-identification”, or self-ID.
This seismic change in Irish law, with its far-reaching implications for women and children’s rights and protections on the basis of sex, was quietly signed into law in July 2015, two months after the Marriage Equality Referendum.
I understand that the Countess would actually like to get rid of the “medical model” as well…but, one step at a time!
I would add that I am always banging on about people being ready for the proposals to change what is said about women in the Irish constitution - see my post on this here: https://dustymasterson.substack.com/p/sound-the-alarm-irish-constitutional
At the Genspect conference ( hopefully more extracts from what sounds like a marvellous event will become available) that has just taken place in Killarney in south west Ireland ( I have walked and scrambled up many of the beautiful mountains in the Killarney area), an excellent and very illuminating speech on the (awful) legal position in Ireland was given by the Countess’ CEO, Laoise de Brún, a lawyer.
Riley Dennis
Feminist Legal Clinic report that an Australian woman was reported to police after making posts on social media about a male who identifies as transgender participating in the women’s football league. Kirralie Smith was visited by New South Wales Police after speaking to media about Riley Dennis, a trans activist who had been the subject of mass complaints last month after reportedly injuring female players.
FFS!!!!
Stereotyping Women
The wonderful and prolific Feminist Legal Clinic also report that by elevating parodies and caricatures of womanhood, our culture makes actual women less valuable.
Terf Talk Tuesday on Wednesday
Great session as ever…but on Twitter! Aghhh! Hope it goes back to You Tube because I have avoided Twitter like the plague!! I understand it is because she has been suspended, no doubt because of some spurious complaint. I agree with Kellie-Jay when she says that we are a broad church. As readers know ( and very cautious to disagree with the wonderful Kellie-Jay!) I do not agree that the Equality Act should be repealed though we may need to get it made clear that the Act is referring to biological sex. Obviously I agree that the Gender Recognition Act should be repealed - it was brought in before same sex marriage was legalised and, therefore, is no longer required. I totally agree that people who get their hands dirty know what a woman is :) If I could be beamed back to meet my fellow dustmen when I worked on the bins in the ‘80s, I am confident that 100% of them would know what a woman is!! It might go something like “A f*****g adult human female, of course” but they would know :)

Rosie Duffield
Dominic Penna in The Telegraph (Labour snubs its only Kent MP in Medway visit ahead of local election 03 May) reports:
Labour has come under fire after snubbing its only MP in Kent during a visit to Medway on the eve of the local elections.
Sir Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner did not extend an invite to Rosie Duffield, the party’s MP for Canterbury, when they visited her county on Wednesday.
Ms Duffield has regularly clashed with the party leadership over her gender critical views, accusing it of dismissing concerns over women’s rights as a culture war issue.
She said on Twitter she had “absolutely not” received an invite to either Wednesday’s event or the Labour' leader’s previous trip to Kent on April 1.
I wish Rosie was my MP!! Her treatment by the Labour Party leadership is a scandal!
I’m a Man!
Got to have a bit of old comedy for the 100th episode of The Duster Speaks :)
“Come and see the violence inherent in the system” :)
OK, onwards to the next 100!!

All women should just “identify” as men and demand we are paid the same, after all, we’re men, cos we say so aren’t we 🤷🏻♀️
🎉 Congratulations on your 100th jam packed episode 🍺. You deserve a mention as one of the wizards🌈.
This jumped out at me on theYasmin Zenith article.. “when an individual’s gender identity or role is different to the sex they had at birth, that is not a mental illness, but rather a condition related to sexual health”. This despite all the evidence from the Tavistock and others. And “ the sex they had at birth” 🙄 Andrew Doyle did a piece on this issue on Sunday. He’s doing such good work.
Monty Python ❤️
Sorry about all the emojis, special occasion and all that.
