Grooming Gangs Scandal
The Casey Report commissioned by the Government has just been published. I haven’t looked at it yet. It is 197 pages long.

More than 100 Australian health practitioners have signed an open letter calling for an end to puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgery for gender-distressed minors.
The signatories include 24 fellows of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists; the distinguished medical scientist Dr T J Martin; 22 fellows of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners; paediatricians; psychologists and psychotherapists; nurses; former and current university professors; and 10 fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
The letter urges professional bodies and regulatory authorities to recognise the risk of harm to vulnerable children and adolescents posed by the “gender-affirming” treatment model.
“Invasive treatments such as puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgery hold known and potential risks of harm. These include sterility, urogenital and sexual dysfunction, effects on bone, brain and cardiovascular health,” the letter says.
It argues that practitioners should be given clear advice to use “psychosocial support as the first-line intervention for young people with gender-related distress.”
Weight of evidence
In support of its case for a correction, the open letter cites England’s 2020-24 Cass review; the more cautious treatment policy adopted in Nordic countries such as Finland and Sweden since 2020; May’s Gender Dysphoria Report from the US Department of Health and Human Services; and the recently-updated psychology-first approach recommended by Australia’s National Association of Practising Psychiatrists.

There are many reasons why the current version of ‘Pride’ is so horrible, but I want to highlight two related issues that have worked in tandem to cause significant damage to the past, present, and future of gay rights:
1. ‘LGBTQIA+’ organizations and ‘trans rights’ activists (TRA’s) tell lies that erase gay history and replace it with tall tales of ‘trans’ heroes
2. Gay shame causes today’s gays and lesbians to reject homosexuality in the service of ‘trans’
The two issues are related because the first feeds into the second.
The tall tales of Marsha P. Johnson and sidekick Sylvia Rivera as legendary Stonewall heroes were crafted to push the trans agenda. Before anyone writes to me to point out that gay history and gay rights activism existed before Stonewall: Yes, I know. But the Stonewall uprising is largely acknowledged as the moment the gay rights movement kicked into high gear. And with the revisionist history, LGBTQIA+ activists found in Marsha their Rosa Parks. As the telling of Stonewall history gets revamped and rewritten, an entire generation of gay and lesbian people are believing the lie that ‘we owe our rights to transwomen’.
This makes them feel beholden to trans dogma, and places the trans movement on a pedestal where it does not belong. Young people eat this up with a spoon, and sadly, there are some gay men my own age (who really should know better) who believe these untruths too.

I can’t remember if I have shared here before how the man on the right, New Zealander Shaneel Lal, who arranged and led the violent counter-protest against Posie and her supporters (like me) in Auckland in 2023, went on TV the next day, dressed in an expensive powdery pale green suit, and proceeded to mock what Posie was wearing.
But I think it is time we reminded ourselves who Narcissis — a man more attracted to his own image than to the beautiful women who tried to seduce him was and see his exact manifestation in these men — and, to a slightly lesser extent, their autogynephilic (straight) counterparts who, unlike these men, have little to no dress sense, just like the typical straight guy. Most gay guys know how to dress, if they tend to go OTT with the makeup (imo).
Model and activist Monroe Bergdorf has just been selected as one of the 25 ‘women defining Britain’ by the UN. He identifies as ‘genderqueer’.
Also a model and activist, Lal was awarded Young New Zealander of the Year in 2023, the week after he organised this mob protest riot to silence a small gang of courageous and justice-minded middle-aged feminists like me.

As Sarah Phillimore points out on her substack this case does not add anything to existing European Court jurisprudence but she also points out the failure to address women’s rights at all in the judgment!!!!!

There is nothing new here. It is not lawful for a State to require surgery before recognising a gender identity. Nor do women's rights and women's identities get a mention.

The European court ruled that it was a breach of the applicant’s article 8 rights to require him to have surgery before changing the gender on his national identity card. This is nothing new. The European Court has previously ruled that making surgery a pre-requisite to change a ‘gender identity’ was impermissible as it would often involve sterilisation.
For unknown reasons this case has been seized upon by anti women activists as an attack on the Supreme Court judgment in the For Women Scotland case, apparently on the erroneous view that the SC had declared trans people do not have rights under article 8 of the ECHR ( the right to a private and family life). The SC of course held no such thing; rather that ‘sex’ should be interpreted to mean ‘biological sex’ in any statute where to do otherwise would lead to absurd and unworkable outcomes.
But the case itself is interesting for two reasons, what it says about the impact of medical/surgical transition and for the continuing failure to notice or care that women have rights also, including the right to single sex female spaces.

The Strum judgement was shamefully ignored by the MSM including our national broadcaster the ABC. The silence on this topic in our media landscape is deafening.
Good news though one of our insufferable woke TV programs The Project was recently axed. The tide is turning oh so slowly.
Ultimately we will prevail but it is infuriating that common sense is a rarity and to be avoided at all costs by the captured institutions and individuals.
