As many readers will know I am down with my mate, Fingers ( supplier of cuttings from the Times) in deepest Hampshire. He is recovering from a stroke but is doing ok. So I don’t have so much time today and am just concentrating on the election.
For today’s Terf Month speech I have gone back to a great speech at a 2023 Let Women Speak at Reformers’ Tree by an American lady who talks about voting amongst other things.
Thanks as ever to two wonderful readers for suggested pieces.
Terf Month
Why are we having Terf Month on this site? Here is a story from Kat Highsmith.

And a piece about Linda Law running for POW in Norwich South.
Eleanor Storey in the Eastern Daily Press ( Linda Law challenges Clive Lewis on his 'views on women' 28 June) reports:
Linda Law, who is representing the Party of Women in Norwich South, said she chose the constituency to confront Labour candidate Clive Lewis about comments he made on social media in support of transwomen breastfeeding babies.
However, Mrs Law says she has been unable to make contact with Mr Lewis and was not invited to a recent hustings event at the University of East Anglia Students' Union, where she hoped to open a discussion into the topic of women's rights.

Meanwhile on the substack for Radical Cartoons, a report on the incident I reported on in the last update:
Bristol Uniparty candidates shat on "the disabled community" from a great height, while banning POW candidate from Speaking.
Report from the "Deaf and Disability Hustings" on 25 June 2024
This hustings was organised by WECIL, BRIL, (two local disability charities), and hosted by Inclusion London.
This event made me so angry it's taken me a couple of days to calm down enough to write this!
Held in Bristol's prestigious “Beacon", formerly the Colston Hall, those of us who care about these things were pleased that it was:
Central; on bus routes and near taxi drop-off points; very accessible, with lifts, and plenty of choices between disabled, unisex, and Male or Female Loos.
It was partly held online, so that those who couldn't get there could join in and ask questions. There was a projected caption service (which didn't work very well) for the deaf members of the audience. All “Brownie Points” for the organisers, so credit where it's due.
But after that promising start, the event was a washout, and a perfect example of top-down authoritarianism wrapping itself in the “Inclusion” flag, (and we all know what colours that flag is, don't we)?

A piece from Iain Macwhirter on his substack about the choice for Scottish Terfs:
How should the women who wouldn’t wheesht vote?
JK Rowling knows who she won’t be supporting on July 4th
JUN 27, 2024
“I've been Labour all my life”, tweeted JK Rowling last night. “I wanted a clear statement from Starmer because I really want an end to this long stretch of Tory insanity, but here I am, voting independent for the first time in my life.”
So, JK Rowling has made her choice and it isn’t Labour. Keir Starmer’s equivocation in the final TV debate with Rishi Sunak was enough for the world’s most prominent critic of gender ideology to finally reject the party to which she has donated a small fortune.
But not for the Conservatives - that is evidently a step too far. Not even Rishi Sunak’s promise to change the Equality Act to make clear that “sex means biological sex” was enough for Ms Rowling to overcome her antipathy to the Tories.

Alex Davies in GB News ( JK Rowling makes feelings clear on 'misogynistic' David Tennant trans speech amid Badenoch row: 'Male entitlement!' 26 June) reports:
© GB News
JK Rowling has waded into the ongoing row surrounding David Tennant’s remarks about Kemi Badenoch during an acceptance speech at this year's British LGBT Awards.
The actor, who was accepting an award for being a "celebrity ally" to the trans community, said during his speech that he wished the Equalities Minister would "shut up".
He also suggested that until people like Badenoch "don't exist anymore", the issue of trans rights will continue to be a talking point.
Badenoch has since hit back at Tennant, branding him a “rich, lefty, white male celebrity” and defended her stance for wanting to ban trans women from women’s toilets and sports teams in order to protect females.
She also insisted she "will not shut up" or be "silenced by men who prioritise applause from Stonewall over the safety of women and girls".
Rowling is one of many public figures who has now made their thoughts on Tennant's remarks clear by reposting a furious verdict from tennis icon Martina Navratilova about the speech.

Navratilova had penned on X, formerly Twitter: "Wow. The misogyny is in full force!!!
"Ladies and gentlemen - I give you the perfect example of Male Entitlement… Omg…." (sic)
Rowling appeared to echo and endorse Navratilova's stance by sharing the take with her 14.1 million followers.
The Harry Potter author similarly appeared to back Badenoch, reposting her full retort to Tennant which read: "I will not shut up. I will not be silenced by men who prioritise applause from Stonewall over the safety of women and girls.”

In their debate both Messrs Starmer and Sunak committed to protecting women’s single sex spaces but Mr Starmer immediately then referred to the mythical ‘transwoman’ - Labour are committed, of course, to bringing in virtual self ID for a gender recognition certificate ( to say nothing of a conversion therapy ban and ramping up hate crime laws etc).
Rhiannon James in The Evening Standard ( Sunak and Starmer commit to protecting single-sex spaces and championing women 27 June) reports:
Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer© PA Media
Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer have both committed to protecting women’s rights to single-sex spaces, regardless of whether someone has a gender recognition certificate.
The leaders were questioned on the issue during the BBC head-to-head debate on Wednesday, with Labour leader Sir Keir receiving the loudest applause of the evening for his response.
Asked if he would protect women’s rights to single-sex spaces, Prime Minister Mr Sunak said: “Yes, unequivocally yes. And we will do that by changing the law, so that the old Equalities Act recognises that sex means biological sex.”
The Labour leader then said “yes” because it is “very important” to protect women-only spaces, when asked the same question.
He added: “What I will also say is that I do recognise that there are a small number of people who are born into a gender that they don’t identify with, and I will treat them, as I treat all human beings, with dignity and respect.”

#BeMorePorcupine
Thanks Dusty. Hope Fingers is improving. Give him our best. We need his fingers back in action again.
David Tennant, what a creep. Just imagine if anyone on the right had said such a thing against a left wing woman.
Can’t believe that JK Rowling was even considering voting Labour. How on earth could she think of trusting them especially considering what’s in the manifesto. #DontVoteLabour.
Great choice Liz 😂.
