Since I am out watching the rugby tomorrow and then won’t be able to get to an update until Saturday evening, I thought I had better send out a second part of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang since I have already collected quite a bit of material that I want to share with you.
So here is another (to quote a reader) ‘ear worm’ song for you!
Thanks this time to three wonderful readers for suggested pieces.
Some of the linked pieces below may be behind paywalls.
United Kingdom - Free Speech
Shocking report here from Andrew Doyle on his substack into the police investigation of well known journalist, Allison Pearson. I think that the Harry Miller case (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-59727118#:~:text=An%20ex-police%20officer%20has%20won%20a%20legal%20challenge,a%20national%20database%20as%20a%20non-crime%20hate%20incident.) is not being applied and this matter needs to go back to court. Firstly, I’ll start with my favourite quote on this issue:
Lord Justice Sedley in Redmond-Bate v Director of Public Prosecutions [1999] EWHC Admin 733:
'Free speech includes not only the inoffensive but the irritating, the contentious, the eccentric, the heretical, the unwelcome and the provocative provided it does not tend to provoke violence. Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having. What Speakers' Corner (where the law applies as fully as anywhere else) demonstrates is the tolerance which is both extended by the law to opinion of every kind and expected by the law in the conduct of those who disagree, even strongly, with what they hear.
From the condemnation of Socrates to the persecution of modern writers and journalists, our world has seen too many examples of state control of unofficial ideas.'

The police investigation of Allison Pearson should be a watershed moment.

Franz Kafka’s The Trial opens with the novel’s protagonist, Josef K., being arrested early in the morning by two officers of the law. When he asks them to explain their reasons, one of the men tells him: “That’s something we’re not allowed to tell you. Go into your room and wait there. Proceedings are underway and you’ll learn about everything all in good time.” He never finds out, of course. Even after the story’s abrupt and chilling end, the reader is none the wiser as to why any of this has occurred.
And so it is hardly surprising that Telegraph columnist Allison Pearson described it as “Kafkaesque” that she was visited by two police officers on the morning of Remembrance Sunday. She was informed that she had been accused of “stirring up racial hatred” by means of an unspecified social media post from a year ago. Anyone who is familiar with Allison’s writing will understand just how improbable this is. Her account of the discussion that followed could have been lifted directly from The Trial itself:
“What did this post I wrote that offended someone say?” I asked. The constable said he wasn’t allowed to tell me that.
“So what’s the name of the person who made the complaint against me?”
He wasn’t allowed to tell me that either, he said.
“You can’t give me my accuser’s name?”
“It’s not ‘the accuser’,” the PC said, looking down at his notes. “They’re called ‘the victim’.”
Ah, right. “OK, you’re here to accuse me of causing offence but I’m not allowed to know what it is. Nor can I be told whom I’m being accused by? How am I supposed to defend myself, then?”
The term “Kafkaesque”, like “Orwellian”, has become something of a cliché, precisely the kind of writing that Orwell continually urged us to avoid. But what else are we to call it? I am reminded of Christopher Hitchens’s account of his visit to Prague in 1988 to report on the Communist regime. He had decided in advance that he would be “the first visiting writer not to make use of the name Franz Kafka”. As it transpired, this resolution was impossible to fulfil. During one of Václav Havel’s “Charter 77” committee meetings, police burst into the building, threw Hitchens against a wall, and arrested him. When he asked for the details of the charge, he was told that he “had no need to know the reason”. How else could he describe this other than “Kafkaesque”? As he was later to say at a lecture at the University of Western Ontario: “They make you do it”.
This is all very well for the Státní bezpečnost, but I’m not sure even Hitchens could have imagined that such behaviour would become routine in the United Kingdom in the twenty-first century. I have written previously on my Substack about the phenomenon of “non-crime hate incidents” (NCHIs), but it’s worth repeating here the key points. Estimates suggest that the police in England and Wales have recorded over a quarter of a million NCHIs since the practice began in 2014. Those who are so branded are often not informed, and these can show up on DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks, thereby impeding their employment prospects. According to the Times, three thousand people are arrested each year in the UK for offensive comments posted online, even in cases where a joke had clearly been intended. This is because Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003 criminalises online speech that can be deemed “grossly offensive”. Whatever that means.

La Leche Part 2
In my last update I reported on La Leche, the breastfeeding support charity that includes larping men. Here is an important follow on from Lucy Leader on her substack, Bodies get in the way:
Think Twice Before Donating to LLLI This Year
A guest post from Mothers for Mother
Nov 14, 2024
Mothers for Mother (MfM) was a website started by disaffected La Leche League Leaders who could see that the LLLI Board was literally killing this venerable organization by its insistence on using “a variety of terms” in place of mother. For 68 years LLL Leaders have provided mother to mother breastfeeding support at no cost to the many thousands of women who contact them every year. LLL has literally changed the course of breastfeeding history but is in grave danger of losing its credibility as Board members alter policies (largely without consultation) to include men and erase women.
It was necessary for Mothers for Mother to be totally anonymous as no public criticism of LLL is ever allowed by Leaders. Leaders who complain (even in private League Facebook pages) are promptly bullied by gender woo warriors and threatened with being disaccredited. In the beginning, when MfM had a comments section, every Leader who commented was sanctioned/booted off committees or otherwise punished for their ‘insubordination’. It took some Leaders over two years to restore their full Leader status.
Because of the level of secrecy required to operate MfM, this website has now been taken down. Reprinted with permission of the Mothers for Mother authors I am republishing a series of their posts as a form of archiving them for future readers who appreciate the sanity of those who believe in biological facts, over the thoughts of those who posit that nothing is more important than what they feel or believe about a made-up world of their choosing.

Canada - The Woke Religion
Matt Osborne writes on the substack, Inspecting Gender:
Resisting the New State Religion of Canada
A Turkish documentary explores the grassroots revolt against ‘gender identity’
Nov 12, 2024
“Canada's liberal policies on gender identity are reshaping the education and healthcare systems, but at what cost?” ask the creators of Gender Wars in Canada, a documentary by TRT World, which is essentially the BBC of Turkey. One might rephrase the question: how has gender ideology banished liberalism and its principles from every level of society in Canada, not least the education and healthcare systems?
Presenter Eren Doguoglu talks to six Canadian women with different stories: a detransitioner; a mother of an ROGD girl; a teacher put through administrative trials for opposing ideological indoctrination; a mother and a grandmother each raising awareness of ideological education; a therapist who does not “affirm” the gender of abuse survivors in her practice. They have been subject to social and political pressure, harassment, even threats of violence for speaking out.
Kellie was abused as a child and fled her femininity to escape male attention. She considered herself a trans rights activist and touted all the low quality “research studies” as evidence of transition’s supposed benefits. Harms were dismissed, for “as trans rights activists we did not care that this intervention was killing people.” Disillusionment led to speaking out, which led to the loss of every last friend Kellie had made in that world. “The last one left over this documentary,” she says.
Chanel Phahl has been through four different “investigations” because she disagreed with critical race theory. School administrators went the extra mile to damage her professionally. Without ever justifying these actions, “they make you know that you really have to shut up,” she says. Whereas Pride events and progress flags were optional years ago, when she was enthusiastic for those things, “now everybody’s got to do it.”
Belief in the magic genderwoo is mandatory. Blasphemies are punished. Canada has a new civic religion, a point the documentarians underscore with aerial and street views of crosswalks and buildings painted in rainbow “progress” colors.
Mother and activist Emily Duggan notes that under SOGI 1-2-3 education, even primary school math questions invoke sexual identities, while policies allow boys to “identify” into girls’ restrooms.
Tami Main lost her daughter to transgender medicalization, finding out only afterwards because “the Privacy Act basically prevents parents from knowing about their children or being included in their children’s lives.”
Terri, a retired prison guard, started ‘Mama Bears’ as the Covid vaccine mandates came down on schools. Gender indoctrination has become a central fight for parental rights. Public trust in “the authority of experts” has reached an all-time low. Her organization advises parents to ask questions and search the bookshelves of their childrens’ classrooms.
Terri mentions a childrens’ book in which a dog wants to be a cat. She may be referring to this book by Linda Laudone, a rhyming book about a cat and a dog that are friends. As Terri explains, however, a book does not have to be ideological to have ideological uses. Instead of challenging the book, parents need to ask the teacher what lessons they are teaching children with the book. Go deeper than the cover of the book.
A Pride flag is purely ideological, however. “I shake my head. Why do we have it in the school?” Terri asks. The fight against discrimination was already won. “It’s about sex. It’s about somebody’s sexual preference. Why do we have that in the schools?” she asks. “It’s not about gay rights. It’s about grooming.” She mentions the group Gays Against Groomers, which opposes gender ideology in schools, because resistance is nonpartisan.

New Zealand - Free Speech
The excellent Free Speech Union of NZ write ( on 14 November) about a new case they are taking on.
We exist as a rapid response team, ready to come alongside individuals whose voices are being threatened for expressing an opinion.
Jenny Hobson is a registered nurse from Hawke's Bay who's recently come under investigation for expressing her opinion online.
She's yet another individual within the healthcare profession who's come up against censorship simply because of her opinions. And as always, we've stepped in.
Let me tell you about Jenny. She is an experienced nurse who's worked in a variety of roles across her career. She even spent time with the Red Cross in Africa.
Last month, she received a letter from her employer, Health NZ (Te Whatu Ora), inviting her to a meeting about a potential disciplinary matter.
Why?
Because a member of the public saw comments Jenny made on social media that they disagreed with, and complained to Health NZ.
The comments Jenny made were on the Parents Against Gender Education New Zealand page.
The first one was over cultural training her workplace was conducting on 'Rainbow Awareness'.
She said, "As a nurse, working for the Hawke's Bay district health board, it's so amazing that whilst we have a 'hire freeze' on for nurses and frontline staff due to budget constraints... ..the health board see the need to fund workshops like this for staff to attend. Really? How about hire some staff to make our workplaces safer for both the workers and our patients?! 😡"
In the other post, she encouraged protests against Rainbow Storytime at the local library.
It's ridiculous that the Health NZ called the meeting in the first place. We wrote to Health NZ telling them as much, but they persisted.
I was pleased to support Jenny and attended the meeting with her.
What was discussed at the meeting is confidential, but I can tell you they are investigating whether or not Jenny's posts amount to:
Conduct that has the potential to bring Health NZ into disrepute.
Public disparagement of Health NZ’s initiative to create a safe, inclusive environment for all patients.
Concern that personal beliefs may impact the safety of those receiving care, particularly anyone in the rainbow community.
Yet again, 'inclusivity' is used as a reason to, what? Exclude someone?
New Zealand has a nursing crisis. Jenny has a heart of gold, as does anyone prepared to dedicate their career to caring for the sick and vulnerable.
So, why are these professional bodies going after nurses and their opinions?
Whether you agree with Jenny's comments or not, she has the right to express them.
I am appalled that these professional bodies think they can dictate the thoughts and speech of their employees. They're spineless, caving to complaints from the public, rather than sticking up for the rights of their staff.
The letter Jenny received advising her of the complaint and requesting the meeting included a note instructing Jenny to remove and refrain from making any posts that identified her as an employee of Health NZ.
Nurses don't have fewer rights than anyone else. Yet organisations like Health NZ and the NZ Nursing Council think they can keep nurses under their thumbs.
How many nurses feel like they need to sit down and shut up? How many only feel like they can voice their opinions because they know we'll come alongside them?
I was able to accompany Jenny at the meeting with Health NZ, but that's only because there's a team of us ready to push back against the would-be-censors.
We're now preparing to respond should Jenny's voice or job be threatened further.
We're only here, ready for whatever comes across our desks, because you're in the fight with us. We think Jenny's voice is worth defending, and we can't do it without you.
United States - Databases
Some shocking statistics from Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans and reference to an amazing database set up by the group Do No Harm.
Databases to Help Combat Gender Ideology
Nov 14, 2024
The thing that never happens, happens. In the United States, between 2019 and 2023, these things happened:
· 13,994 minors underwent sex change treatments
· 5,747 minors had sex change surgeries
· 8,579 minors received hormones and puberty blockers
· 62,682 sex change prescriptions were written for minors
This information is thanks to the dedicated folks at Do No Harm who have compiled the Stop the Harm database. It catalogs sex change treatments performed on minors throughout healthcare facilities in the United States.
Do No Harm profiled children’s hospitals in states still allowing sex change treatments on minors, examining their advertised services to determine which medical interventions they provide.
Do No Harm analyzed insurance claims data to properly assess which sex change procedures each hospital and healthcare facility administered to minors.
Do No Harm reviewed claims data at children’s hospitals in states that have passed legislation with age limits on sex change treatments for minors and non-pediatric hospitals and healthcare facilities.
If you would like to know if a hospital in your area is putting children in harm with their commitment to gender ideology, you can access the interactive map on their site.
Do No Harm’s goal with this database is to encourage positive change in the gender field and protect children. Stop the Harm will help to inform the public and shed light on the prevalence of these practices. It’s all in keeping with the Do No Harm objective of protecting healthcare from the disastrous consequences of identity politics.
===========================================================================
In a similar initiative, Parents Defending Education have begun compiling a database of school districts with gender affirming policies. Last updated in October 2024, the database lists school districts by state that openly profess that district personnel can or should keep a student’s transgender status hidden from parents.

Article by Sarah Phillimore on hate speech……..which should of course be abolished in all its forms.
Really good to see statistics on child mutilations being published. I’m sure that’s a low estimate.
If breastfeeding men don’t convince people that it’s a fetish, I don’t know what will. And no mention from the people pushing it about the harm to babies who have no choice in being pumped full of second hand hormones. 🤬
#GenderIdeologyIsEvil.
Thanks Dusty. Good luck for the rugby.
I've probably said it here before, but no apologies in the circumstances: speech is either free or it is not free at all. Any interference with speech renders it unfree. People should be able to speak freely, with only the consequences being amenable to legal sanction.
