Well, this is a real shoe horn job. Also a shoe horn with a caution.
Our gender critical/ pro women movement is, of course, non violent. I am sure all my readers will get this ( but just in case an anti-women’s activist is wandering by) but the clip above is a metaphor ( if you are an AWA you will probably have to look that up :)).
We are Marshal Rooster Cogburn facing up to the AWAs/ Stonewall etc in the form of the Ned Pepper Gang. And…of course…as KJK says…we will win!
OK, ok it is also an excuse for me to provide two of my favourite clips from a Western. With apologies to John Wayne, I do much prefer the 2010 re-make of True Grit with Jeff Bridges much more convincing as Cogburn. Additionally , and for a change in a Western, one of the central characters is female namely Mattie Ross, played by Hailee Steinfeld.
Anyway you’ll need true grit to read some of my posts below! :)
“Some bully shot!”
Warning
The clip below is the end scene (albeit it does not give away the plot) so only watch if:
a) you have seen the film before, or
b) you don’t intend to watch the film, or
c) you have a really awful memory.
The wonderful singer is Iris DeMent.
“Time just gets way from us!”
This is no 10 in the Addled Brain series!
Tuck-her Carlson
Back to the job in hand. Now let’s see…what have we tonight, Terven…thanks to a reader who brought my attention to a new spoof ad by Tyler Fischer who made the marvellous Bud Light horse/cat ad :) (swearing warning :)):
The London Marathon
Richard Ashmore in the Daily Express ( Olympian says trans runner competing as female in London Marathon ‘wrong and unfair' 25 April) reports:
A British Olympian has said a biological male identifying as a woman running in the female category of the London Marathon was "wrong and unfair". Trans athlete Glenique Frank competed in the aged 50-to-54 bracket during Sunday's race and finished 6,160th in a field of 20,123 female runners. Olympian Mara Yamauchi said that Glenique competing in the female category gave nearly 14,000 women a lower ranking in the race than they otherwise would have achieved.
Hear, hear!
We Love JKR
The Woo Woo Independent has a piece looking at what JKR has said over the years about gender issues. I won’t trouble you with much of it but it was clearly designed to show how ‘transphobic’ JKR is. However it fails - surprise, surprise - to come up with even a single comment that could be described as ‘transphobic.’
The report is by Ellie Muir (A timeline of JK Rowling’s comments about women and transgender rights 25 April):
The Harry Potter author tweeted in support of Maya Forstater, 45, who was fired from her job at poverty think-tank, Centre for Global Development, over a series of tweets questioning government plans to allow people to self-identify as another gender.
Following her comments, a group of supporters started a hashtag IStandWithMaya, including Rowling.
She wrote: “Dress however you please.
“Call yourself whatever you like. Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you.
“Live your best life in peace and security. But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real?”
Ms Muir fails to mention that, of course, Maya won her tribunal case establishing that the holding of gender critical beliefs is a protected characteristic under the Equality Act.
Drag Camp!
Benedict Smith in The Telegraph ( ‘Glam and drag camp’ for children as young as six paid for by taxpayer 24 April) reports:
“Serious questions” must be answered about a “glam and drag camp” for children as young as six that was funded by the taxpayer, MPs have said [Dusty - I should coco!].
The event, which took place in Doncaster over the Easter break, saw children spend four hours creating costumes, applying make-up and creating “alter egos” [ Dusty - RED FLAG!!] for themselves.
The event was approved by the city council and funded by the Government’s Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme, a £205 million initiative intended to provide “enriching and engaging” activities for those on free school meals.
Nick Fletcher, the local MP who also sits on the education select committee, said: “I don’t see any reason why we should have ‘glam and drag’ sessions through Holiday Activity funding.
“I just don’t see why the taxpayer should be paying for that. I don’t see the relevance of it. There’s lots of fun things for children to do. They’ve never done this before, I don’t see why we need to start now.”
The event was hosted by Journey, a private tuition company, which also put on a taxpayer-funded “graffiti camp” to “find the next Banksy”.
Beam me up, Scotty!
Un-Cancelling The Dead
Chloe Govan in The Daily Express (Piers Morgan rages at 'gutless' comedy fest 'un-cancelling' Barry Humphries after death 24 April) reports:
Piers Morgan, 58, claimed Barry Humphries had been standing up for women's rights when the comedian made controversial comments about trans issues.
The entertainer, who channelled Dame Edna Everage on stage, had described transgender surgeries as "self-mutilation" and that being trans was "a fashion".
As a result, Melbourne Comedy Festival's Barry Award, which had been created in his name to honour the most outstanding comedy show each year, was renamed to The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Award.
Following Barry's death over the weekend, the festival shared a statement on Twitter which said they were planning a "fitting tribute" to the "genius".
A spokesperson wrote: "The news of Barry Humphries' passing in the last 24 hours of the '23 Fest was momentous.”
……
However, TalkTV host Piers Morgan was not impressed and accused the festival of being "gutless cowards".
Sharing his anger with 8.4 million followers, he wrote: "You gutless cowards cancelled him for standing up for women's rights. You don't get to un-cancel now he's dead."
Well, I don’t always agree with Piers Morgan…but on this occasion!!
Happy Birthday to the Jester
Barry Wall was 21 yet again today and I hope he had a lovely day. He had pre-recorded two videos ( how dedicated is that!). Please buy Barry a coffee on his birthday :)
The first is a look back over the year and he concludes that we are moving forward:
The second is a heartfelt and moving account of a trans identifying male who was involved in what is known as The Dutch Experiment or The Dutch Protocol( which kicked off all the medicalisation of children) - see Hannah Barnes’ Time To Think for full details. The 18 year old lad suffered severe complications after an operation to create a false ‘vagina’ ( a so called ‘vaginoplasty’) and died shortly afterwards. Barry describes these surgeons as like Frankenstein and I’m sure we would all agree.
Glinner Update
Always a relief, following the horror stories, to get the Good News Supplement from JL including the story of the underwear stealing cat! I wish our cat brought in underwear instead of dead animals!

Paddy’s Podcast
Thanks to a Terven friend ( she who also alerted me to the transfeline Bud ad :) ) who has directed me to this Irish gentleman:
Paddy O’Gorman is gender critical and often deals with gender issues especially concerning women’s prisons and women’s hostels. He goes out and interviews people. Recommended.

Sorry, Dusty, I no longer feel as non violent as I did. It is a feeling not an ambition, but I have developed such an acute and distressing loathing for these people and the harm they do, and will go on doing
