To celebrate Donald Trump’s wonderful Executive Orders concerning gender ideology, free speech and DEI, I am doing a short Western season. I did a round up of the Orders here:

I love Westerns but I have to admit that they are male dominated and machismo laden. So, to very slightly counteract that, my first two choices will feature strong female leads!! Starting with The Quick and the Dead
In 1881, a gunslinger known as "The Lady" ( think Kellie-Jay with a gunbelt 😄) arrives in the Old West town of Redemption, which is ruled by a ruthless outlaw-turned-mayor named John Herod. Herod has announced a fast-draw single-elimination shooting tournament with a large cash prize for the winner. The rules stipulate that any contestant may challenge any other, no challenge can be refused, every contestant must fight once per day, and a fight continues until one contestant either yields or dies. The Lady announces her participation, insisting that she is only interested in the prize.

Why the controversial charity's attempt to rewrite the law of rape risks making lesbians and gay men second class victims

In a less than challenging interview in the Guardian on 28th March 2025, Stonewall’s new CEO, Simon Blake, made a pitch for a “reset” in how the embattled charity is perceived and chose as his vehicle the forthcoming Government ban on “conversion practices”. He relied on a series of statistics said to support such a ban including a striking claim that 12% of those surveyed had “experienced “corrective rape” or sexual assault, all in an attempt to change their sexuality or gender identity”. The basis for these statistics has not been published, and the sample group is apparently composed of “LGBTQ+ Britons” with all the attendant problems that brings in terms of cohort specificity.
Strikingly, the report continued, (emphasis added), “While some of these are already illegal, campaigners hope that drawing them together under a blanket ban on conversion practices would strengthen recourse for victims as well as acting as a deterrent.” Any criminal lawyer reading that sentence would immediately be concerned, I certainly was. The reason for that concern is “drawing them together” implies that a criminal act can at once be the offence of rape and also Stonewall’s new offence of a conversion practice. For reasons I will outline below, duplicating criminal liability in the case of rape could have disastrous consequences.
The vast majority of commentators on ‘conversion therapy’ feel it is vanishingly rare - so let’s have this evidence, Stonewall!! Or have you just made it up?
We know that their real aim is to prevent therapists, parents and others assisting ( other than via ‘gender affirming medicine’, of course) distressed and confused children who feel that they might be ‘born in the wrong body.’

How bad does it have to get for the mainstream media to care about the compromising pictures on a Left politician's personal Instagram account?

Disturbing screenshots from what is purported to be NZ Green MP Benjamin Doyle’s hidden Instagram account, began emerging on X on Friday. The word from credible sources is that these are legitimate pictures.
Apparently, the releaser of these images, @2ETEKA, was sent them late last year by a very concerned (now ex) Green voter. @2ETEKA couldn’t find anyone in the media to take an interest in them, so finally let them loose on X. Now, the NZ Herald has a journalist on it. There are no guarantees, of course, that they’ll run the story, or whether it will be a soft-soap job or not, considering the mainstream media’s strong Left-leaning bias.
Benjamin Doyle’s hidden Instagram account, now locked down, is called ‘biblebeltbussy’. Bible Belt is the common name for the Southern USA, where evangelical Protestantism is considered to exert a strong social and cultural influence; and ‘bussy’ is a portmanteau word of ‘boy’ and ‘pussy’, to refer to a male anus in a sexual context.

Australia - Indoctrinating Barristers!
As I mentioned in the last update, I am delighted to be back on the e-mail list for the Feminist Legal Clinic. Here’s another good one from them via The Australian!
Barristers schooled on trans ideology
NSW [ New South Wales] barristers have been instructed to never assume the gender identity of people interacting with the court system, and are being encouraged to “start the conversation” about preferred pronouns with a witness or client in case they feel intimidated to do so themselves.
Three state judges and Sex Discrimination Commissioner Anna Cody last month launched the NSW Bar Association’s LGBTQIA+ Language & Pronouns Guide, which educates barristers on the importance of addressing stakeholders by their appropriate pronouns.
The document also provides a glossary of alternative pronouns to traditional male and female – such as “xe/xem/xyrs” or “sie/ze/hir/hirs” – and discourages barristers from using terms such as “transitioning” or “transgendered”.
“You should not ask: What pronoun do you prefer?” the guide, backed by the bar association’s LGBTQIA+ Advocate for Change Mark Seymour SC, reads, adding: “This is because it is not a question of preference.”
The two-page manual features a list of common terms for barristers to familiarise themselves with, including “brotherboy” – a descriptor used by Aboriginal Australians who have “a male spirit and take masculine roles within the community”.
It also defines acronyms “AFAB”, “PFAB” and “DFAB” – assigned female at birth, presumed female at birth and designated female at birth – and “AMAB”, “PMAB” and “DMAB” – assumed male at birth, presumed male at birth and designated male at birth.

UK - Free Speech - Parents Arrested
This matter which has currently hit the headlines is not about gender ideology but really about free speech which is so important to us Terfs and I am sure it will be of intense interest and concern to lots of my readers. This rings bells for me with the well known case of Katherine Scottow v The Crown Prosecution Service where Ms Scottow was prosecuted for harmful online communications and harassment ( the ‘pig in a wig’ case). Not a movie, either, but have you seen 'Godless'? It's a great series with wonderful women lead characters; worth a look for that alone, but the writing is crisp, the side stories intriguing and realistic. And the story of 'Whitey' (Mr White, I believe) is darkly hilarious to me.
A brilliant double-post, Dusty. Well done on the depth & scope of your work. I hardly know where to start on tranny insanity & the erosion of safeguards as well as attacks on free speech. Have posted both parts on X.
