“They expect us to lose heart or to fight back. We will do neither.”
I’ll start by repeating what I wrote earlier re the attempted rally in Auckland - since I have re-read it and it remains correct I believe.
We are with the brave women of NZ, their brave male supporters, the brave stewards and, of course, the wonderful Kellie-Jay. The violence and misogyny of the trans rights lobby was shown in frightening detail. The fault is shared by the media and all others who have been pedalling complete lies and misinformation. The fault is also shared by the police for failing to be present to start with and with the government of New Zealand for failing to ensure protection for the brave women and their supporters.
I have visited New Zealand. It is a beautiful country. However I fear for New Zealand if the government and the police cannot ensure that there is free speech in the country.
Kellie-Jay had said that Hobart was the worst place re free speech. Unfortunately she was wrong! It does bring to my mind the hardships faced by the Suffragettes as many others have said.
EDI Jester has done a superb piece on the events calling more gay men to come forward and support the women:

EDI reminding me of the salt mine scene from Gandhi actually brought a few tears and I realised I needed that release (so to speak) after watching the horrors of Auckland. And it is a great analogy. We must wipe away the tears, patch ourselves up and march back to the salt mine. Just as the then British Government lost any vestiges of authority they had, so have the trans rights movement lost whatever authority they might have thought they had. We need to keep pressing forward with the truth about what happened in Australia and New Zealand in the face of a new gutter press who used to be renowned broadsheets.
Great report by the Real Rukshan:

He says that ‘celebrating silencing people is deranged.’ He calls out the government and the media for fuelling the fires.
Great report on the Glinner Substack about the smearing of Standing for Women following the Melbourne event where a totally separate group of rather strange neo-nazis were allowed to enter the zone between the Standing for Women group and the TRAs. They clearly had nothing to do with the women’s rally but the politicians and the media have linked the two in a gobsmacking piece of misinformation. And dangerous misinformation to say the least given what happened in Auckland!
