The Ipcress File
Update 776. The 'I'm Sick Of This Sh*t' Special. #BeMorePorcupine.
Well, that break didn’t last long! The news and views did slow down on their way into Dusty Towers over Christmas but have built up sufficiently for me to return here.
Ironically, after attempting to present you all with an upbeat Christmas message ( https://dustymasterson.substack.com/p/terfy-et-torbay ), we end up in this update reporting on some very disappointing and frustrating news for us Terfs!!
After our Christmas film series, we are back to the Dusty, Nicola and Moodie Film Series. Please keep the suggestions for films coming in but please check the list first which I am updating as we go along. Please send suggestions in the comments here at this link:
The Ipcress File is a 1965 British spy film directed by Sidney J. Furie, based on Len Deighton's 1962 novel. It stars Michael Caine as Harry Palmer, an intelligence officer from the War Office investigating the disappearances of high-level scientists.
Thanks to three wonderful readers for suggested pieces.
Some of the linked pieces below may be behind a paywall.
A Christmas Message
I’ve only just caught up with Kellie-Jay Keen’s Christmas message so, in case you missed it, here it is complete with two of her songs. She places especial emphasis on the cases brought by nurses Sandie Peggie, the Darlington Nurses and Jennifer Melle.
For Women Scotland
Excellent interview in The Sunday Times with the FWS sheroes.
We won the Supreme Court sex ruling. The PM is subverting it
For Women Scotland, whose case led to the judgment on biological sex, accuse the UK and Scottish governments of endangering women through blocking tactics
December 27 2025
Politicians are “thwarting” the Supreme Court ruling on women’s rights and are putting women at risk, according to the feminist group For Women Scotland (FWS).
Ruling in favour of the campaigners, who brought the court case, the judges said in April that the term “sex” in the Equality Act refers to biological sex, when it comes to the provision of single sex spaces. This means the term “women” refers to — hold onto your hats — women, and women-only spaces are lawfully provided for women. The term does not mean, as the Scottish government insisted, and spent at least £374,000 arguing, a man who identifies as a woman, known as a trans woman.
Yet women, including the NHS nurse Sandie Peggie, are still being reprimanded by employers and employment tribunal judges for saying that males should not be in women’s toilets, changing rooms and other women’s only spaces.
Sandie Peggie, right, won a partial victory in her case against NHS Fife
JANE BARLOW/PA
Susan Smith, 53, a former financial adviser and one of FWS’s three founding members, says: “Both the Scottish government and the UK government claim they accept the Supreme Court ruling, but they have done nothing to implement it. Rather, they have gone out of their way to thwart it. Bridget Phillipson [the secretary for women and equalities] in particular is trying to fudge the law by sitting on the Equality and Human Rights Commission [EHRC] guidance, and it is having a serious impact on women.”
After the ruling, the EHRC drafted a code of practice advising businesses and public bodies how to maintain single-sex spaces, including hospital wards and prisons, in order to comply with the ruling, and urged the government to bring it to parliament “at speed”.
More than three months later, however, Phillipson is still refusing to sign it, saying she is concerned the guidance is “trans exclusive” — and if she means that it excludes males from women’s-only spaces, she is correct, because that is what flows from the court’s ruling.
“If Bridget Phillipson and Keir Starmer don’t like what the Supreme Court did, they have the power to change it. But they’re not going to do that, because they know it would be incredibly unpopular and stupid and they’d lose support. So instead they’re playing silly buggers and trying to change the law by stealth,” says Smith.
Phillipson claims that banning males from women’s single-sex spaces would mean a mother would not be able to bring her toddler son into a changing room. It’s an argument that is in equal parts fatuous and desperate, suggesting that a small child with his mother is analogous to a grown man who believes he is a woman.
Marion Calder, 54, an NHS worker and single mother, another of FWS’s founders, says: “Why should we ever listen to Phillipson again if she cannot make a decision about something as simple as this? She needs to ‘woman up’ and face down these men’s rights activists. It’s very simple: things are either single sex or they’re not. But if I had a penny for every time someone said, ‘Oh it’s terribly complicated’ I’d be richer than JK Rowling.”
Trina Budge, 54, a farmer from Caithness and FWS’s third founder, adds: “You know, we asked to meet with Phillipson just before the verdict last April, and she said no.”
Did Starmer contact them? They all burst out laughing at the thought.

England - The Children’s Commissioner Goes Woo!
We have been reporting how Girlguiding have been trying to fudge the Supreme Court judgment - see, for example, here:
https://dustymasterson.substack.com/p/im-laughing-at-clouds?utm_source=publication-search
Now the Children’s Commissioner for England is joining in!!!!!!!!! As reported in Birmingham Voice:
James Cartledge
27 Dec 2025
Youth charities like Girlguiding can hopefully come up with “innovative” ways to ensure children do not feel excluded in the wake of a ban on trans girls [ Dusty - Boys!] joining, the Children’s Commissioner has said.
A coalition of volunteers and parents has argued that refusing a child based on their gender identity “sends a message of rejection” to young people [Dusty - Boys!].
Girlguiding – which has around 300,000 UK members across its Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers groups – announced in early December that it will only allow those recorded female at birth [ Dusty - Girls!] to join.
Many volunteers within Girlguiding have threatened to resign over the issue [ Dusty - Byee! Don’t let the door hit you] , but others have welcomed the change, saying they had expressed safeguarding concerns and were pleased at the change.
When it made its policy announcement, taken after legal advice following the Supreme Court ruling in April on biological sex, Girlguiding described it as a “difficult decision”. [ Dusty - Difficult? Do me a f*****g favour!]
Dame Rachel de Souza said she was “so sad” to hear of children feeling excluded.[ Dusty - What? Like girls not joining because boys are included?]
In an interview with the Press Association, she said: “Girlguiding is really trying to do its best to follow [ Dusty - Get around] the law, I think, and they have to, they’re a charity.
“But again, like I said, with headteachers, we’re often really good at making things work for every child on the ground.” [ Dusty - Apart from girls, of course]
Is this woman really the Children Commissioner? More like the Larping Boys Commissioner! Beam me up, Scotty. The full piece is here:

Feminist Legal Clinic reports via The Daily Mail:
Unrepentant transgender rapist moans that being in male prison is ‘worse than the crime I’m supposedly guilty of’ | Daily Mail Online (27 December)
All entries on Feminist Legal Clinic’s News Digest Blog are extracts from news articles and other publications, with the source available at the link at the bottom. The content is not originally generated by Feminist Legal Clinic and does not necessarily reflect our views.
A transgender rapist who started identifying as a woman after committing a sex attack has been complaining about the ‘hell’ of daily life in a male prison, the Daily Mail can reveal.
Lexi Secker sobbed after being sentenced to six and a half years behind bars last year for carrying out the sexual assault on a drunk friend.
Then called Alex, he lured her to woodland and raped her – and then claimed he was innocent and accused the victim of consenting. He continues to deny rape.
Secker went on trial as a woman, but the judge and police recorded that he was male when he carried out the attack in a woodland in Blunsdon, Wiltshire two years ago.
Just like the case of Scottish trans rapist Isla Bryson, Secker’s crimes caused anger when revealed.
It later emerged that Secker is a vocal ‘anti-TERF’ activist who trolled JK Rowling for her views on gender identity, calling the author a ‘shallow, insecure pleb who mistook success for intelligence’.
A year ago Secker, 36, wept as the judge said he had ‘regard to how difficult a prison sentence in a male institution will be’.
And it appears that the convicted rapist agrees, apparently writing letters from behind bars about suffering ‘constant discrimination’ at HMP Ashfield.
JK Rowling had followed the case and at its conclusion wrote on X: ‘The important thing to remember is, he’s a total one off*, none of the other men arguing against women-only spaces are predators** and we won’t find out down the line there are more rapists hiding in plain sight.***
‘*He really isn’t.
‘**They totally are.
‘***We definitely will.’
Dusty - well done to The Daily Mail for using correct pronouns in this report 😀
A Short History of American Terfery
Excellent short history from Kara Dansky on her substack, Terf Report. I love the quote of an interview with Germaine Greer 😂
Why the history of a movement is important
The feminist fight to protect women’s sex-based rights
November 30, 2025
This post is for Jules Kirk, a fierce woman and radical feminist who died on Thursday, November 27. Jules was active in the women’s liberation movement for many years. This is her:
We used to chat on the phone frequently, and we met a few times in person. She was warm, thoughtful, and delightfully funny. She once sent me this pair of socks:
There are tons of women and girls who are finding their voices and speaking out about recent assaults on women’s sex-based rights to things like female-only sports, locker rooms, and prisons, which is great! I do my absolute best to document them in my weekly series, FFS Friday.
As more and more women find their voices, I think it’s important for them to know the history behind the movement. Feminists have been speaking out about this for a long time, but it’s very difficult to know that, for two reasons:
The mainstream legacy media either ignores us completely (the norm) or paints us as stooges of the far-right (the rare but very disingenuous exception to the norm); and
The mainstream legacy media paints this entire fight as being between the “big bad Christian Right” and a “poor marginalized community that is just fighting for its civil rights,” which is also completely disingenuous.
It can be difficult for new-comers to believe that practically our entire society has caved to the idea that some men are women if they say so, if they adopt the stereotypes of femininity by wearing makeup, dresses, and high heels, or if they take hormones and/or have surgeries to make them resemble women. But it’s true. The easiest way through this is just to understand that as difficult as it is to believe, it’s completely true. There’s an entire billion-dollar industry behind all of this, but that’s a story for a different day.
On November 28, Jennifer Sey published a piece titled “The history of the movement to protect women’s and girls’ sex-based rights.” This is important, because it’s important to understand history. A lot of people think this movement started with conservatives. That’s understandable because of the media narratives and recent efforts under Trump 2.0, but it isn’t true.
In 1979, a lesbian radical feminist professor named Janice Raymond published a book titled The Transsexual Empire, essentially predicting everything that was to come. She republished it in 1994, with a new Introduction about the emergence of a very dangerous word: “transgender.” She has generously made it available for free, via a downloadable pdf.
In 2014, journalist Michelle Goldberg published an article in The New Yorker titled “What is a Woman?: The dispute between radical feminism and transgenderism.” In it, she recounts an event in 1973, where a radical feminist named Robin Morgan said:
‘I will not call a male “she”; thirty-two years of suffering in this androcentric society, and of surviving, have earned me the title “woman”; one walk down the street by a male transvestite, five minutes of his being hassled (which he may enjoy), and then he dares, he dares to think he understands our pain? No, in our mothers’ names and in our own, we must not call him sister.’
Things really started to heat up in the early 1990s at MichFest (the Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival), after a man who called himself a woman was removed. For decades, men held something called “Camp Trans” across the street from the festival, which was primarily for lesbians, but welcomed all women (the female kind).
A lot of people think that Matt Walsh started the movement in 2022 by putting out a film titled ‘What is a Woman?” (the same title as Michelle Goldberg’s 2014 New Yorker article about radical feminists). That film was important, but it did not start the movement. I watched the whole film. Women’s Declaration International USA published a review of it shortly after it came out.
While all of that was happening, the following exchange occurred:
No response.
In April of 2023, The Daily Wire claimed on X that the film “started a movement to protect women and children from radical gender ideology.” At around that time, during an interview with The Spectator, the interviewer noted (accurately) that in the UK, it is predominantly leftist feminists who are leading the fight against “gender identity” and asked if there are any such leftist feminists fighting the fight in the US. Walsh essentially answered that there are no leftist feminists fighting the fight in the US and that all opposition to “gender identity” in the US is coming from conservatives (it’s right around 12:00 in the video). He knew he was lying. He knows who we are, and he knew it then.
The Daily Wire has a ton of money, and I assume Walsh was paid for his work on the film. Most conservative activists in this fight are paid for their work. In contrast, the feminist group Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF) was all-volunteer for several years (though now the group has a handful of staff members who earn a modest salary). Women’s Declaration International USA (WDI USA) has been all-volunteer since 2020.
WoLF was founded in 2013 as an unapologetically radical feminist organization. Its mission is to restore, protect, and advance the rights of women and girls through legal argument, policy advocacy, and public education. It believes:
That female humans, the class of people called women, are oppressed by men under a system called patriarchy.
That patriarchy is organized around the extraction of resources from female bodies and minds in the service of men, including reproductive, sexual, emotional, and labor resources.
That gender is a hierarchical caste system that organizes male supremacy. Gender cannot be reformed—it must be abolished.
That overlapping systems of injustice built on misogyny, racism, and wealth inequality must all be dismantled for all women to be free.
WDI was launched in 2019 to advance the Declaration on Women’s Sex-Based Rights globally (the Declaration). The US chapter launched in 2020. The Declaration reaffirms women and girls’ sex-based rights, and challenges the discrimination we experience from the replacement of the category of sex with that of “gender identity.” It has been signed by nearly forty thousand individuals from 160 countries and by 547 distinct organizations.
One of its co-founders is a radical feminist lesbian named Sheila Jeffreys, based in the UK. In 2014, she published a book titled Gender Hurts, whose back cover reads as follows;
It is only recently that transgenderism has been accepted as a disorder for which treatment is available. In the 1990s, a political movement of transgender activism coalesced to campaign for transgender rights. Considerable social, political and legal changes are occurring in response and there is increasing acceptance by governments and many other organisations and actors of the legitimacy of these rights.
This provocative and controversial book explores the consequences of these changes and offers a feminist perspective on the ideology and practice of transgenderism, which the author sees as harmful. It explores the effects of transgenderism on the lesbian and gay community, the partners of people who transgender, children who are identified as transgender and the people who transgender themselves, and argues that these are negative. In doing so the book contends that the phenomenon is based upon sex stereotyping, referred to as ‘gender’ – a conservative ideology that forms the foundation for women’s subordination. Gender Hurts argues for the abolition of ‘gender’, which would remove the rationale for transgenderism.
Feminists have been at this for a long time.
Someone recently told me that the Alliance Defending Freedom has been fighting for female-only sports in court longer than anyone. This is not accurate. WoLF sued the Obama Administration over Obama’s attempt to redefine sex to include “gender identity” in Title IX in 2016. The case was titled Women’s Liberation Front v. United States of America.
ADF’s first involvement was Soule v. Connecticut, filed first as an administrative complaint in 2019, and later as a legal complaint in 2020. The main reason ADF even got involved in the first place was a guy named Gary McCaleb, a retired ADF attorney. He and I met in 2018, during a meeting at the headquarters of the Trump 1.0 Department of Education. Incidentally, Trump 1.0 did nearly nothing to combat gender ideology. At the time, the first floor of the DOE’s headquarters building was plastered with images of the “Genderbread person” (if you don’t know what that is, here you go). The DOE official we met with flatly ignored our concerns.
To his credit, Gary worked hard to persuade ADF leadership to get involved, and he once reached out to me for a quote from lesbian radical feminist Ruth Barrett’s 2016 anthology Female Erasure: What You Need to Know About Gender Politics’ War on Women, the Female Sex, and Human Rights. The 2016 anthology includes forty-nine chapters by feminists who hail from the political left. It also contains a foreword by Germaine Greer, an Australian leftist feminist who has been speaking out about these matters since forever. In 1989, she published an article in The Independent titled ‘Why Sex Change is a Lie.”
“Female is real, and it’s sex, and femininity is unreal, and it’s gender.”
― Germaine Greer
A few years ago, Genevieve Gluck (who was active in WoLF for many years and co-founded the feminist magazine Reduxx) posted a 2015 video of someone interviewing Greer, which goes something like this:
Greer: It’s misogyny.
Interviewer: Yeah, but that doesn’t mean that some men don’t feel like they’re women.
Greer: So what?
Interviewer: Could you please be nicer?
Greer: No. I’m sick of this sh*t.
Interviewer: If a man really really truly feels like a woman, can he be a woman?
Greer: No.
Interviewer: Do you understand how people feel that’s insulting?
Greer: I don’t care.
I’m tempted to make ‘I’m sick of this sh*t’ the byline of this substack 😂

Kelly Dougall has also now interviewed him. Recommended.
Terf Island Discs
Thanks to all readers ( and me 😀) who have made suggestions and we still have lots of songs to go that will take us well into 2026. It’s been great (I think anyway 😊).
We will then be reverting to Endpieces.
Endpieces, as regular readers will know, consisted of comic pieces, animal videos, songs etc to provide a bit of relief after some of the horror stories we detail on this substack. Endpieces was run by Tenaciously Terfin, Liz Parker and myself and we are delighted to now have been joined by Becca Shambles, Petal and Jeremy Wickins. Please let us know if you want to join the Endpieces Club 😊
I have an Endpieces folder so Endpieces suggestions can be sent to me at any time from now even though Terf Island Discs will be continuing for the moment as explained above 😊
Onwards with Terf Island Discs.
Next up!

I love ‘I’m sick of this sh*t’ as a title and I’m going to nominate Bridget Phillipson for the first of the Dusty’s SH*T awards, closely followed by Rachel da Souza and her Girl Guide idiots. Coming up a close third are all the people who were involved in referring a teacher to Prevent for showing Trump’s inauguration to his sixth form class during a lesson on US politics. 🤦🏻 Ffs.
