Since I am out tomorrow watching the rugby and since I have already got a backlog of things I want to bring to you, dear readers, I am publishing this a bit earlier than expected. If someone could put a halt on the Terf News for a short while that would be greatly appreciated 😂
I am pausing the film series to send a message to An Garda Siochána ( the Irish police) via an old Irish rebel song, The Foggy Dew performed by wonderful Sinéad O’Connor (RIP) and the equally wonderful Chieftains. Hopefully readers will have followed recent updates about the injunctions obtained by the police against Twitter (X) ordering them to provide access to the X accounts and confidential information of Gript News, Natural Women’s Council and others. An Garda Siochána, Ireland obtained its independence to be a free nation not to be under totalitarian control.

Ireland - The Stasi
Ben Scallan in Gript News ( Gardaí spying on media outlets “a deeply alarming development” 19 February) reports:
The revelation that An Garda Síochána sought a court order to access the private correspondence of Gript Media has sparked significant political reaction, with several representatives condemning the move as an alarming attack on press freedom.
Independent TD Mattie McGrath strongly criticised the development, describing it as “shocking”.
MATTIE MCGRATH: “WE’RE BACK TO THE DAYS OF THE HEAVY GANG”
“I think it’s shocking, because we live in a democracy with a fair and free press,” he said.
“Am I surprised? I’m not. I’ve said this countless times, I said it when Charlie Flanagan was Minister, and I said it when Helen McEntee was Minister: we’re back to the days of the Heavy Gang in 1973.”
McGrath said that the Garda ‘Heavy Gang’ used to “terrorise people, including opposition and people they didn’t like, often under the auspices of anti-terrorism.”
“They were known for this,” he said.
“So am I surprised this happened? No. I think it’s scurrilous, outrageous, and it’s beyond belief.”
He further expressed hope that the new Justice Minister, Jim O’Callaghan, would investigate and take action against such practices.
PAUL LAWLESS TD: WHEN OUTLETS TRY TO HOLD THE GOVERNMENT TO ACCOUNT, “IT SEEMS IT COMES WITH A PENALTY”
Aontú TD Paul Lawless echoed similar concerns, saying the development was “very worrying.”
“The press do have an important function,” he said.
“In a liberal democracy the press have a really important function to hold Government to account, and it is disappointing that when outlets seek to do that, it seems it comes with a penalty,” he said.
“And that has a chilling effect that will have massive repercussions, not just for Gript, but for outlets right across the country.”
KEN O’FLYNN TD: “WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE THE GARDAÍ INVOLVED WITH THE FOURTH ESTATE”
Independent Ireland Chairman and TD Ken O’Flynn described the situation as highly “unusual” and unacceptable.
“I was quite surprised when I heard that story – I thought it was very unusual, to say the least,” he said.
“I have great respect for An Garda Síochána, but I also have great respect for this media outlet and other media outlets. I don’t think going behind media companies’ backs, trying to get injunctions, trying to find out our personal information, and trying to go through people’s email accounts, going through their messages, seeing who their sources are, is acceptable. It is very, very concerning.”
He called on the Minister for Justice to make a public statement on the matter, emphasising the importance of a free press: “This is about our media. This is about the media that holds the entire country to account, that tells the truth—whether it’s your outlet or somebody else’s outlet. Journalists are reporting on the facts. We should never have the Gardaí involved with the Fourth Estate.”
CONCERNS OVER THE MINISTER’S AWARENESS
O’Flynn also criticised Minister O’Callaghan’s claim of being unaware of the matter when questioned on Virgin Media: “That either tells you two things—the minister is not on top of his brief, or the minister isn’t up to the job. So you take your pick of what that is.”
He added: “I’d hope to say that maybe he just wasn’t on top of it today. But that’s very, very worrying if a minister doesn’t know what’s happening in his own country, what’s happening in his own department, where he’s responsible for.”
SENATOR SHARON KEOGAN: “AS A POLITICIAN I’M SHOCKED TO READ THIS”
Independent Senator Sharon Keogan also raised concerns about whether the Gardaí had sought data from X or other platforms regarding politicians.
“As a politician I’m shocked to read this,” she said.
“This is extremely worrying for those of us who provide opposition to the government. Has @GardaTraffic sought any data from @X or any other social media platform on any person in the political arena? We need to know. Every journalist needs to speak out on this, they could be next. #FreePress #FreeSpeech”
CAROL NOLAN TD: “THIS IS A DEEPLY ALARMING DEVELOPMENT”
Meanwhile, Independent TD Carol Nolan described the issue as a “deeply alarming development,” drawing parallels with past state surveillance controversies: “It reminds me of the state-sponsored Kinzen episode when some of us spoke up in defiance of the official narrative during Covid-19. Although this appears far more serious. I will be raising urgent Parliamentary Questions on this matter.”
The controversy has intensified debate about press freedom in Ireland, with Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan pledging to examine the matter further.
UK - The MHS and Kellie-Jay!!
Kellie-Jay has been carrying out one of her excellent campaigns which the NHS and the Police are not happy about.
Aidan Radnedge in The Mail Online ( EXCLUSIVE Women's rights campaigner threatened with legal action by Wes Streeting over protest posters ridiculing the NHS over 'female prostate screening' and 'male smear tests' 20 February ) reports:
The NHS has threatened a women’s rights campaigner with legal action over a protest poster mocking the health service for treatment of female patients and language about gender.
Kellie-Jay Keen told MailOnline she would defy calls by the Government to withdraw promotional material she has produced - despite receiving a legal demand on behalf of Health and Social Care Secretary Wes Streeting.
The gender-critical activist, who runs the group Let Women Speak, shared with supporters A3 sheets she sells and has based on NHS branding - but instead calling it the MHS, for 'Men's Health Service'.
The posters draw attention to NHS departments which have referred to 'female prostate screening' and 'male smear tests' which she and fellow campaigners say misrepresent biology.
Now she has been sent an official letter instructing her to remove them within weeks or potentially face court action.
The email to Ms Keen, who has campaigned against transgender women [ MEN!!!!] using female-only spaces, came from the Government Legal Department saying it was sent on behalf of Mr Streeting.
The Department of Health and Social Care later told MailOnline they would pursue action against 'unauthorised use of the NHS name' and that the intervention was purely to do with branding rather than opinions expressed by Ms Keen.
Yet the activist, who also goes by the name Posie Parker, said she would not be responding and defied officials to keep up this particular case.

Date set for GenderPlus challenge
A judicial review hearing has been scheduled for 24th and 25th June 2025, challenging the Care Quality Commission’s decision to license GenderPlus, a private clinic providing puberty blockers to 16- and 17-year-olds.
Psychotherapist Sue Evans and an anonymous parent argue that the clinic’s registration risks creating a two-tier system, with private-sector patients receiving less protection than those in the NHS.
Evans, with 40 years of NHS experience, warns that young people lack the maturity to fully comprehend the lifelong consequences of taking cross-sex hormones. The Cass Review and NICE have found insufficient evidence to support their safety and efficacy.
The legal challenge seeks to overturn GenderPlus’s registration and prevent other private clinics from offering similar treatments.

A government ban on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for new patients in Queensland, Australia, is reportedly under challenge from within the system by the statewide Queensland Children’s Gender Service.
On January 28, the state government department Queensland Health issued a directive immediately halting all new prescribing of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for gender-distressed minors in the public system, pending an independent review of the contested evidence for these interventions.
However, the government-run gender service stands ready to keep triaging and assessing new patients for these hormonal treatments, with the prescribing done by private doctors unfettered by the official directive, according to a social media post by a Queensland general practitioner (GP, or primary care doctor) who is listed as a “gender-affirming” provider.

I don’t know if children have ever been the battle ground for power in the way we see today. That they are being weaponised is for certain. That there is enough awareness and social will to end it? Time will tell.
In the past few weeks I have had more reports of children being ‘transed’ by their parents and the school ‘going along with it’. Thus far there has been rightful focus against the activism of schools and teachers to radicalise children into gender ideology against parent wishes. This comes in the form of the notorious LGBT Youth Scotland programs (as written about by
here ), TIE (Time for Inclusive Education Program written about by
here) and the capture of the teaching unions such as EIS (written about by me here). However there very little attention to the insidious placement of ‘trans children’ by radicalised parents into schools and the schools response.

In an earlier post, I wrote about parents lying to their children, using Santa Claus as an example. Santa is generally considered to be an acceptable tale to spin in many homes as part of a family effort to create a bit of magic for children (and for parents delighting in the pleasure of their children’s happiness). It is accepted that a belief in Santa is self-limited, usually by age. Part of the fascination of parenthood is watching your children gradually grow and develop into functional adulthood and realizing that your parents got the same sort of feelings when they watched you.
I am not aware of any permanent harms done to children when they realize that Santa is not real, even if this news is briefly distressing for some children. However, the same cannot be said of another myth that has become recently popular, which is that children can be “born in the wrong body” and have a brain that is misaligned with the sex they were “assigned at birth”.
Just as children do not create a Santa story without adult influence, no child is “trans” without prior indoctrination by the trusted adults around them. There are no “trans kids”, but there are children who have been manipulated by adults to believe that they are somehow faulty, but fixable. Lying to children to serve the needs of adults can cause traumas that may never be resolved as this article so plainly elucidates.
There are now legions of mutilated young people who have learned the hard way that they were lied to, as their bodies no longer function as they were designed to work.
Lucy concludes:
Yes, I know that there are already court cases that have been filed against these Executive Orders, but I am still celebrating the tiniest glimpse of light at the end of the very long tunnel that transgenderism has societally undermined. Everyone at one point in time also thought the earth was flat and sailing ships needed to take care not to fall off the edge.
Wrong is still wrong even if everyone believes otherwise and facts still matter even if many believe they don’t.

Last week I joined a Lesbian friendship and socialising group for women over 35 on Facebook. It’s been a while since I last bothered joining any Lesbian group, given the seemingly never-ending arguments and falling-outs regarding trans-inclusion. Indeed, up until a couple of years ago, I was the moderator for a local lesbian Facebook group and experienced a prolonged campaign of harassment for not allowing trans-identifying males to join.
Although the abuse I received was tough, what was harder was the eerie silence that eventually descended on the group. I think this was because many women were too afraid to speak up about this issue or became thoroughly fed-up with it being the only thing we talked about. Our groups used to be about whether we wanted to plan a walking holiday or meet for a pint and a game of pool....
I wanted to join this new group because I miss having lesbians to socialise with. As a younger woman, I was part of a very vibrant community. Lots of bars, social and political groups, sports teams, ample dating opportunities. It was something I completely took for granted.
Back to this new group, and a glance at the inclusion policy didn't bode well, given “all sexual orientations and genders” were apparently welcome. How could that even be the case in a group designed for lesbians? The group had 7000 members in it. The very first post I saw was from a man named ‘Julie’, a man in a mini skirt, with a pantomime wig and fake breasts, taking a photo of himself in the toilet.

The NHS will be fools if they decide to prosecute Kellie-Jay. It's a sure-fire way to bring huge attention to their idiotic language.
Thanks Dusty, some good challenges to look out for, in particular the amazing KJK. Can’t believe that the NHS could be stupid enough to bring attention to all the insanity they’ve been indulging in and all the money they’ve been spending on it all, not to mention the other court cases involving changing facilities. As long asKJK gets plenty of support (Rowling/Musk?) I say bring it on.
Barry is right, everyone needs to alert children to the dangers of all woke ideology and try to gently encourage them to think critically and be brave enough to stand up for what’s right. I’ve been doing this with my grandchildren and so far, so good. I think encouraging them to accept themselves as being different, being proud of that, not following the herd through fear, is possibly the key.
