Jean Hatchet is completely correct, but - unless I missed it - she doesn't go quite far enough. If we don't use the word "trans" (which I agree with), then "detransitioner" makes no sense (which I've thought for quite some time). We don't have "de-anorexia-ers", or "de-depressioners", partly because we don't define people in terms of an abnormal state of mind they had in the past.
Good point. I did pause over the word 'detransiitoner'. Ritchie Herron aka Tulip does not use the word because he says he never transitioned ( of course) despite being castrated! The word 'desister' is used for those who change their minds but who never undertook any medical procedures ie. just did it socially. Maybe we could expand the word 'desister' to cover 'detransitioners'? I think that we do need some word for it because it is important to know about the 'regret' rate. The larping men's activists and the gender ghouls are always saying it is less than 1% which we all know is boll***s!
I agree re a descriptor for exactly the reason you identify. "Desister" has its advantages, but I can see some silly twit claiming it only applies to men who used to pretend to be women (de-sister!)
It might have to do for the moment until someone comes up with something better tough the trouble is so many people talk of 'detransitioners' that we might be stuck with that!
Good point, I hadn’t thought of that. What a conundrum. Gender ideology has caused so much chaos, its ripples are everywhere. So much for affecting ‘just a tiny number of people’.
I would go with the headline: Men Banned from Self-Identifying Into Female Category at Olympics
Sub: IOC change rule that let male athletes with ‘female’ passports compete against women
Main text: The decision means the blanket ban against male athletes in female sports categories can once again be properly enforced. The IOC accepted full responsibility for undermining safety and fairness in women’s sport and gave personal apologies to all the female competitors who had been discriminated against under the previous insane policy.
Okay, I maybe slipped into wishful a bit at the end there 😄
Dear readers
Mr Menno is doing a premiere at 20.30 GMT of an interview with Róisín Murphy who was also at the 199 Days march.
See some of you in the chat.😊

Medicalised desisters?
Ooh that's good, Becca!

I identify as a genderwoo resister 😆
😊
It will probably end up as some legacy term.

Thanks, Becca
When we get a piece like that (ie are you listening, BBC, a piece that tells the truth) we can then all get together for The Big Party 😊
Dusty
A party would be nice 😊 Not holding my breath for many apologies though!
No but also we're not letting all of them over the Golden Bridge!!!!!!!!
Dusty
You definitely did 😁
😁
