Thanks to a wonderful reader for directing me to a shocking new report from Transgender Trend which is my main item today and returns to a subject from the last update, namely Relationship and Sex Education in schools. Sometimes we can feel under siege by this gender madness: inappropriate and damaging teaching in schools; the use of hate crime by the police; so called gender affirming care; the attempts to silence the voices of women; cancellation of gender critical campaigners. The list goes on. However, on Terf Island, there is a fight back against the gender borg: the Cass Review; NHS England banning puberty blockers; successful legal cases such as Maya Forstater’s case; the voices of our great heroes speaking out against the madness.
Picking up on another theme from the last update, namely Remembrance Day, this leads me to the 1969 film The Battle of Britain which centred on , of course, the RAF holding out against the Luftwaffe . As Winston Churchill said in 1940:
'Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few'.
Relationship and Sex Education
Remember the 2019 Birmingham school case where parents were protesting outside a school and an injunction was taken against them? Most of the media presented this as about the issue of homosexuality. But this was not the case. At the heart of the dispute was an external teacher called Andrew Moffat and his No Outsiders scheme. Mr Moffat is still going strong today teaching 7 to 11 year olds that there are different gender identities and that you can change sex. Additionally Mr Moffat seeks to challenge what he describes as ‘heteronormativity.’ The latter is, of course, a meaningless word since it implies that being heterosexual is a lifestyle choice!?
Transgender Trend (No Outsiders scheme: still teaching children how to be ‘trans’ 15 November) report:
Andrew Moffat, who wrote the controversial No Outsiders scheme for primary schools, has doubled down on the teaching of gender identity to the under 11s. He has become more overtly political in his approach. He is using books that tell children that it’s possible to change sex despite the sea change in evidence and knowledge following the Cass Review. He actively promotes the social transition of primary school children despite caution advised by NHS England. His materials for assemblies are partisan, and biased towards sensationalist news. In terms of reach he has become one of the biggest peddlers of the ‘wrong body’ narrative in our schools. Shelley Charlesworth looks at how he manages to get around Department for Education guidance in order to teach his ‘child-friendly’ version of queer theory.
The queer theory origins
Just over four years ago angry parents protested about the content of LBGT lessons outside Parkfield School in Birmingham, prompting Transgender Trend to take a close look at the ideas and approach of the teacher at the heart of the controversy, Andrew Moffat. Our blog No Outsiders: Queering the Primary Classroom can be read here.
We found that Andrew Moffat was one of the teacher participants in a 2006-8 University of Sunderland research project, also called No Outsiders, whose purpose was to challenge ‘heteronormativity’ in primary schools, among both children and staff. From this he went on to develop his own successful No Outsiders project which is both a programme of learning for primary schools and a charity of the same name.
He rarely mentions the genesis of No Outsiders now, but the foundational ideas of the ESRC funded project, steeped in queer theory, underpin the content of his No Outsiders scheme for schools. Andrew Moffat, as we will show, like the original academic researchers, has little time for theories of child development. In a 2009 book of essays derived from the project they wrote:
“The primary school is often thought of as a place of safety and innocence; a place where childhood is nurtured and sheltered, and where attempts to address what are seen as ‘adult’ issues may be seen as intrusions into or threats to this safety zone.”
The adult issues that the University of Sunderland wanted to discuss within the primary classroom, staffroom and playground were those of sex, gender and sexuality. Their disparagement of ‘innocence’ and ‘safety’ went hand-in-hand with a disdain for any understanding of child development, both cognitive and physical.
Queer theorists are doomed to be forever disappointed by actual children, who prefer in the main to play in groups of their own sex and know the difference between girls and boys. This is the ‘heteronormative’ reality that queer theorists seek to break. They see it as a learned imposition, a restrictive system of belief and not what it is, the result of millennia of evolution and the binary system of sexual reproduction common to all mammals.

Kellie-Jay Keen has also done a video on this subject, in case you missed it, after she did a wonderful job accompanying a mother to a school for a meeting to complain about what was being taught and about unisex toilets.
Michigan Salon
This is yet another real FFS report!
Joey Cappelletti in The Independent ( Discrimination charge filed against Michigan salon after owner's comments on gender identity 15 November) reports:
A hair salon in northern Michigan is facing a discrimination charge from the state's Department of Civil Rights after its owner posted on social media earlier this year that anyone identifying as other than a man or a woman is not welcome at her business.
The department claims in the charge filed Wednesday that Traverse City’s Studio 8 Hair Lab violated the state's civil rights act in a Facebook post in July from its owner, Christine Geiger, by unlawfully discriminating against three claimants.
The post, which is no longer available, read, “If a human identifies as anything other than a man/woman please seek services at a local pet groomer. You are not welcome at this salon. Period. Should you request to have a particular pronoun used please note we may simply refer to you as ‘hey you.’”
A hearing will now be scheduled before an administrative law judge, who will issue a recommendation after hearing the merits of the complaint, according to the civil rights department. The recommendation will then go before Michigan's Civil Rights Commission to either adopt or make their own ruling.
Let’s hope this ridiculous case is thrown out! Best of luck to Christine Geiger and Studio 8 Hair Lab!

The Gender Framework
At their recent conference in Denver, Genspect released a document called ‘The Gender Framework’.
https://genspect.org/introduction-to-the-gender-framework/
This is a draft document which is out for comment but people may find that difficult since the document is over 300 pages long!! There appears to be no specific deadline for comments. Right at the beginning of this document is a brief ‘Position Statement’ and EDI Jester has addressed that:
I agree with all that Barry says but would add a few things.
I would include under 'education' for children:
1. Stop them using or limit their use of the internet
2. Get them playing outside and out in nature
3. Get them involved in a sport or sports.
Aside from that I agree that the way forward is education but it seems to me that, for those who are suffering from a mental illness (often with co-morbidities) they may need some kind of talking therapy.
Let Women Speak
My wife and I can’t make this but hope it goes really well. We will be watching on You Tube 😎
Endpiece
Oh, go on, let’s continue with Remembrance. Here’s Casablanca and La Marseillaise 😎
I have paid work tomorrow, so the next update will probably be Saturday.
Thanks for the update, Dusty. Appreciated as always.
Great update again Dusty! Some days I feel like all is lost to this nut job ideology but then I remember there are people like you in the fight! 👊🏾👊🏾. Thanks for continually writing about and exposing this hideousness.
