Given the publication today of the disastrous Labour Party Manifesto I am producing this special on the election and all other matters will be deferred to an update (or possibly updates) on (hopefully) Saturday.
Thanks to a wonderful reader for suggesting this update’s Terf Month speech from Michelle of ManaWāhineKōrero at the famous Melbourne Let Women Speak rally.
Keep those suggestions for speeches coming in.
Labour Party Manifesto

It’s called ‘Change’! I think they missed off ‘Your Sex’!
I will, of course, be concentrating on the gender madness. There are other bits that, personally, I think are nuts but I am just honing in on this.
Delivering opportunities for all means that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity. Labour will protect LGBT+ and disabled people by making all existing strands of hate crime an aggravated offence(p89).
I take it that this means that ‘misgendering’ will be an offence. ‘He’s not a woman, he’s a man.’ Criminal offence right there!
So-called conversion therapy is abuse – there is no other word for it – so Labour will finally deliver a full trans-inclusive ban on conversion practices, while protecting the freedom for people to explore their sexual orientation and gender identity (p89).
In other words, a therapist or a parent or a teacher talking to a child about their concerns when they feel distressed will become a criminal offence.
We will also modernise, simplify, and reform the intrusive and outdated gender recognition law to a new process. We will remove indignities for trans people who deserve recognition and acceptance; whilst retaining the need for a diagnosis of gender dysphoria from a specialist doctor, enabling access to the healthcare pathway. Labour is proud of our Equality Act and the rights and protections it affords women; we will continue to support the implementation of its single-sex exceptions (p89).
Rarely have I seen two paragraphs that are next to each other but more in conflict with each other!! What is proposed is virtual self ID to obtain a gender recognition certificate but they will protect women’s single sex spaces which they are just about to destroy???
Labour Loyalists?
As important are the things they do not mention: ending of cross sex hormones for children; ending of any so called gender affirming care and genital surgery for adults on the NHS; ending the teaching of gender identity to children at school, the use of inappropriate sexualised books in school and not allowing the social transitioning of children at school; strip searching of women by trans identifying male police officers; men in women’s prisons; proper protection in law for women’s spaces to ensure that men, however they identify cannot enter them; the proper implementation of the existing laws with regard to protest to ensure that women can hold rallies without being drowned out and intimidated by thugs and trans rights activists; same sex intimate care for those who require it; an end to the erasure of women’s language…no doubt there are more matters that could be added to this list. Since Labour do not refer to these matters, I presume they are perfectly happy with them.
Obviously we also call for the repeal of the Gender Recognition Act which has become entirely academic and the repeal of the protected characteristic in the Equality Act of ‘gender reassignment’ which is, likewise, academic.
Presuming that Labour are the next government, this is going to get very difficult for the Terf Resistance. We need to call on some deep Suffragette spirit as well as sharpening up potential legal challenges.
I have had to compile this in haste since I have been out all day, so please let me know if I have missed anything. All thoughts very gratefully received.
Here is EDI Jester commenting on it:
Party of Women
Kellie-Jay Keen, the leader of the PoW, is standing in Bristol Central and a group called Bristol Women’s Voice have called a hustings but said that KJK is not invited because they are ‘inclusive’ (ie. they include women with penises - normally referred to as ‘men’). KJK will be attending anyway. Looking forward to it.
One of the PoW candidates has featured in her local paper. Well done, Bev.
Franscesca Herring of The Hunts Post ( General Election: St Neots Party of Women Bev White 11 June) reports
To launch The Hunts Post's coverage of the General Election, we'll be speaking to candidates in the constituencies of Huntingdon, North West Cambridgeshire, and the new constituency, St Neots and Mid Cambridgeshire.
Standing as a candidate for the Party of Women in St Neots and Mid Cambridgeshire is Bev White.
Ms White said of her priorities for St Neots and Mid Cambridgeshire: "I have come to the realisation that if I do not step forward then women and girls will have no political voice advocating for them in this constituency, or asking questions in parliament in the many areas where safety, privacy and dignity do matter such as changing rooms, sports and prison."
Speaking about the Party of Women, she said: "Party of Women is a single-issue party, we are concerned about the erosion of women's rights in language and law and the removal of access to single sex spaces when required."
When asked about the scale of the pressures facing the NHS and how to reduce waiting times for hospitals, GPs and dentists, Ms White said: "The inability to access GP’s and long waiting lists are symptoms of wider issues within the NHS, rather than the cause.
"There is a trend to remove the words describing the female sexed body from the NHS literature, increasingly we see articles referring to ‘people with a cervix’ and ‘birthing person’, this obfuscation of language is concerning given the fact that women are underrepresented in clinical studies, there is a poor understanding of some female specific health issues.
"Women are more likely to be viewed as a nuisance if they go back for repeat visits, which can delay access to treatment or services. Adding deciphering of official language to staff’s workload is unlikely to increase access to GPs or reduce waiting lists, though it will add to the cost of running the NHS."

The brave ladies ( including one very famous lady 😊) who are standing as candidates for PoW in the General Election have had to raise £500 deposit to stand and also need money for campaigning materials such as leaflets and travel etc. Here are some links to fundraisers that are up so far. More may follow. Please give generously if you can. Even if you wouldn’t vote for PoW, they will be bringing this issue to the forefront in their constituencies.
And, if you are in their constituency, please vote for them. I wish I had one in my constituency 😒

Thanks Dusty, we all knew this was coming, but seeing it in black and white really is terrifying. I’m more terrified for children than anything, how many more will be sucked into a fetish cult? Your song choice says it all.
On a lighter note, I’m pleasantly surprised to see that the Green manifesto is less insane than we expected. 😁
I had a little chat about this with my Labour candidate for York Outer. He didn’t seem that interested 😟
