Should Old Acquaintance Be Forgot
Update 770. Data Linkage Study Special. #BeMore Porcupine
The news and views continue to stream into Dusty Towers so this is another long one, dear readers.
This update like many of my updates has taken a great deal of work to put together. I am grateful to all my subscribers but please consider becoming a paid subscriber which would greatly assist my hard work.
We are interrupting the Film Series for our Christmas films. Thanks to readers who have made suggestions. It’s not too late to make suggestions.
Next up is It’s A Wonderful Life (1946).
The plot is far too convoluted to attempt a brief resumé. Even though the scene below is the end of the film, even if you haven’t seen it I don’t think it will give that much away.
James Stewart is George Bailey, Donna Reed is his wife Mary, Todd Karns is his brother Harry, and little Zuzu is played by Karolyn Grimes. And, though not present whilst being centrally mentioned in the scene, guardian angel Clarence Odbody was played by Henry Travers.
Stop The Trial
In my update from London yesterday after the rally, I provided a link to yesterday’s debate in the House of Commons which wasn’t working, so here is the debate below:
And here is a brief debate in the Lords today. Baroness Cass says that there has been a significant drop in the number of children being referred to the gender clinics. She says this is because alternatives to puberty blockers are being obtained via the dark web.
Firstly, how does she know this.
Secondly, if this is the case, the answer is not to have a clinical trial but to enforce against such activity potentially, I would have thought, concerning social services.
Additionally many of those who were working in the disgraced Tavistock are still in this line of work. Talk about marking your own homework!!
In any event, Dr Cass did not say that there had to be a clinical trial. It is for Mr Streeting to weigh up whether that should take place especially on ethical grounds and it is no good him hiding behind ‘Dr Cass told us to do it.’ And it is not good him saying that the Tories failed for a long time to do anything about the Tavistock when they were in power. That is true but so what? It is not a reason for having a clinical trial! Mr Streeting’s reputation is teetering on the edge of going off a cliff if it has not already done so and, if the trial does proceed, he will be responsible along with the clinicians and the activists for the terrible damage to confused children that will inevitably result.
If I remember the statistic correctly 80% of children, by the time they reach 25, will have got over their concerns about their ‘gender’. That means, if the trial proceeds, that 80% of those in the trial should not be there and should not be receiving harmful medication. I would, of course, say that no children should be on this trial because all of them will be irreversibly damaged but he has to at the very least accept from the statistics that the vast majority of these children do not require so called medication. Puberty is a human right and puberty is the answer.
All thoughts gratefully received.
Transgender Trend have commissioned a very important opinion poll which shows that, across all demographics including Labour voters, the majority of people oppose the use of puberty blockers on children.

Another very important piece from Transgender Trend about the so called ‘data linkage study’ which was meant to look at the 9000 children ( now adults) who had gone through the Gender Identity Development Service at the Tavistock. A great deal of work was done to enable this to be concluded but, by the time the Cass Review was published, the gender clinics were refusing to co-operate.
As Transgender Trend write:
Would the final report have gone ahead with the recommendation for a puberty blockers trial if the long-term data had shown poor outcomes? We will never know, but what we do know is that it is a common strategy of activist clinicians and organisations to bury data that shows bad results, from WPATH hiding systematic reviews they had commissioned from Johns Hopkins University to Johanna Olson-Kennedy’s reluctance to publish research which did not show children’s mental health improved on blockers, to the Tavistock’s inability to publish results of their 2011 puberty blockers study until 2021.

We have previously reported on the very important report from the US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS):
https://dustymasterson.substack.com/p/dhss-report?utm_source=publication-search
SEEN In Journalism feature a very important comparison between the Cass Report and the DHHS report by the group Biology in Medicine. To give just one example, the DHHS report does not support any suggestion of a clinical trial:
HHS: Does not support a puberty blockers trial
‘As the FDA emphasises: when the risks of a treatment are serious, anticipated effects must be proportionate. In cases where serious risks are anticipated, it is important to consider whether the risk can be outweighed by a benefit of sufficient certainty, magnitude, and clinical relevance to patients.
‘Some of the plausible harms of paediatric medical transition are serious. The likelihood of infertility when puberty blockers are provided at the early stage of puberty, and followed by cross-sex hormones, does not have to be demonstrated in a clinical trial.
‘This is because the mechanism is well-understood and conducting a trial would amount to an unethical ‘parachute test’.

Concern has been expressed that ‘pubertal suppression may alter the course of gender identity development, essentially ‘locking in’ a gender identity that may have reconciled with biological sex during the natural course of puberty.”
In 2024, the European Academy of Pediatrics cautioned that puberty suppression may undermine long-term autonomy by creating a path dependency that leads to cross-sex hormones and surgery
Several studies have suggested continuation rates from puberty blockers to cross-sex hormones exceed 90%. The perception of PBs has shifted—from being seen as a reversible “pause button” to more like a “gas pedal” that accelerates medical transition.
Concern has been raised about the unknown or potentially harmful effects of suppressing normally timed puberty on adolescent physical and mental health, especially with regard to bone mineralization and brain development.
Systematic reviews have not found credible evidence that they lead to meaningful improvement in mental health
There is high certainty evidence that puberty blockers exert physiological effects (such as sex hormone suppression) and often cause infertility when followed by CSH, depending on the patient’s pubertal stage and sex. Low certainty evidence suggests that PBs may compromise bone health
The evidence is particularly limited regarding long-term outcomes related to fertility, growth, and neuro-cognitive development.
As a result, there is little data on what happens after treatment ends, and the assumption that the effects of PBs are reversible remains largely untested.
Overall there is an absence of long-term, high certainty evidence on critical outcomes, including suicides, fractures, fertility, growth, and neuro-cognitive development, and substantial uncertainty about the effects of puberty blockers.

Alex Armstrong on GB News piles into the trial!
GB News interviews Baroness Fox and three of the MPs ( Jonathan Hinder, Rosie Duffield and Sarah Pochin) after our rally yesterday:
Jeremy Kyle is horrified about the trial. He interviews Sarah Pochin.
LGB Alliance groups in many countries including the USA are sending letters to their respective British Ambassadors objecting to the trial.
Excellent piece about the rally with good interviews from Spiked:
I understand that James Esses has said that himself, Keira Bell and Bayswater Support Group may need to lodge their judicial review challenge before Christmas.
The Ladies Pond Case
We reported the other day on Sex Matters’ permission hearing in this challenge to the City of London Corporation:

The decision on that hearing will not be known until January. Julia Hartley-Brewer on Talk TV interviews Fiona McAnena.
UK - Maria Kelly
Understandably most people have been concentrating on the awful judgment in Sandie Peggie’s case but we did report recently on another bonkers tribunal result`;
Helen Joyce on her new substack provides an excellent explanation of two of the most ridiculous aspects of the judgment:
UK - Harry Miller is back!
Feminist Legal Clinic report via The Telegraph:
Gender-critical former police officer takes Mahmood to court | The Telegraph (17 December)
All entries on Feminist Legal Clinic’s News Digest Blog are extracts from news articles and other publications, with the source available at the link at the bottom. The content is not originally generated by Feminist Legal Clinic and does not necessarily reflect our views.
Harry Miller, a free speech campaigner, was questioned under caution by Lincolnshire Police after welcoming the dismissal of a transgender police officer who had conducted a campaign of harassment against him.
There was no evidence that Mr Miller had committed any crime and he was subsequently released with no further action.
But more than a year later, he discovered Lincolnshire Police had formally recorded the matter as a hate crime and stalking offence, which could show up on any enhanced DBS check.
Mr Miller is now taking legal action against Lincolnshire Police to have the hate crime expunged from his record.
He has also lodged a judicial review against the Home Office to demand the entire system of recording hate crimes is changed to bring it into line with other offences.
Mr Miller, who helped found the Fair Cop campaign group to remove politics from policing, has already won a significant victory over the way police handle non-crime hate incidents (NCHIs).
But he decided to turn his attention to actual hate crime offences after discovering one had been recorded against him, despite there being no evidence to support the allegation.

New Zealand - Rex Landy
Great news from Katrina Biggs on her substack, A B’Old Woman that the great Kiwi campaigner, Rex Landy has not received a criminal conviction following a case taken against her due to vindictive complaints from a giant larping man.
The NZ Police Prosecution Service finally sees sense, and absolves Rex Landy of any criminal charges.
It’s been an ordeal, but Rex prevailed.
Dec 17, 2025
What a day Tuesday was. I, and Debbie Hayes – she of the petition against the Midwifery Council –, winged our way to Wellington to support Rex Landy during the court case brought against her by the NZ Police. They were acting on a complaint originating from Rex’s hurty words about a man who says he’s a woman, and who now goes by the name of Caitlin Spice.

Rex, short for Rexene, is a Māori woman who is funny, offensive, salty, ferocious, kind and generous. She takes aim at men who say they’re women, and lets them have both barrels of her wit and antipathy – i.e. she says and writes hurty words, and there’s no doubt those words can have a shark’s bite to them.
Caitlin Spice goes internet hunting for mentions of his name in ways he can take offence at, and then claim he’s been harmed. His reputation for doing this, and for then running ‘seek and destroy’ missions against those he’s decided have offended him is not unknown. Rex is not the first he’s targeted in this manner. True to form, he made a complaint - directly to the police - about Rex’s hurty words, and in September 2024 the police ordered Rex, under the Harmful Digital Communications Act (HDCA),to take down all mention of Caitlin Spice from Rex’s social media accounts and posts. Strangely, though, Rex says that the police never actually served an HDCA on her, despite ordering her to take down the posts under that act. And no evidence of the supposed ‘harm’ was ever produced, regardless of repeated requests from Rex for it.
The full piece is here and includes a link to Rex’s piece on the result of the case:
Canada - The Transgender Toddler!!!!!!!
Statistics Canada are doing a report on ‘gender identity’ in children from birth to 14 years old! You couldn’t make it up! Colin Wright reports on Reality’s Last Stand:
Canada Plans to Release Data on ‘Transgender and Nonbinary’ Babies
The ideology and pseudoscience behind Canada’s plan to count “transgender” infants and toddlers.
Dec 17, 2025
On December 8, members of the Toronto chapter of Pflag—a volunteer group dedicated to “creating a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them”—received an unusual email. The organization said that while it rarely shares survey requests from third parties, it was making an exception for a “trusted partner”: Statistics Canada.
The federal statistical agency published “gender-identity” data for people 15 and older in 2022. But many Canadians may not know that it has also collected this information for children aged 0 to 14. Now, the agency wants input on how to present this data publicly. The email sent to Pflag solicited parental feedback on how to “produc[e] and releas[e] information on transgender and non-binary children and youth.”
A ten-page “Consultation Guide” was attached to the email, titled “Transgender and Non-binary Children and Youth: Data Dissemination.” The Guide’s authors claim that releasing this data will “contribute to strengthening evidence-based decision making to inform programs and services for these populations.” That sounds reasonable enough until one grasps the implications: that infants and toddlers have a “gender identity,” that this identity can differ from their sex, and that governments must know this information so that they can design programs and services around these presumed identities. The Guide accepts these tenuous premises in its opening paragraphs, explaining that its goal is to publish the data in a way “that does not cause undue harm to gender diverse children and youth.”
In its Objective and Confidentiality section, the Guide purports to summarize relevant background from “National Statistical Organizations (NSOs), academic and other grey literature, and common public discourse.” But instead of accurately relaying known facts, it presents a heavily distorted account of child development aimed to help parents identify their young children’s supposed “gender identity.”

The States - Larping Men In Prison
FLC via Reduxx report on a piece that is sympathetic to dangerous larping male prisoners:
Pedophile, Baby Killer Highlighted In Sympathetic Profile On Trans Inmates – Reduxx (19 December)
A trans-identified male currently incarcerated for raping two children and torturing an intellectually disabled man to death was among those highlighted in a sympathetic profile on the plight of transgender inmates under the Trump administration.
On December 5, Uncloseted Media published an article titled “Trans Women in State Prisons on Being Targeted by Trump,” which profiles several trans-identified males incarcerated across the United States and documents their perspectives in the wake of new federal policies and the broader political climate under President Donald Trump.
While the outlet claims to offer “objective, nonpartisan, rigorous” journalism, it failed to mention the backgrounds of any of the trans inmates it profiled in its overwhelmingly sympathetic article.
[FC Ed: Be warned the full article includes extremely disturbing details.]

Pretend Medicine Round Up
On his substack Gender Clinic News, Bernard Lane provides a great round up about so called ‘gender affirming care’ around the world, including a piece on the puberty blocker trial.
Terf Island Discs
Thanks to an excellent suggestion from Tenaciously Terfin, we have paused Endpieces for the time being and we are giving Tenaciously and Liz a well earned rest from their hard work. So, since 07 July, we have been running Terf Island Discs.
We have decided to extend that one last time and then return to Endpieces.
Before we detail the extension, Endpieces, as regular readers will know, consisted of comic pieces, animal videos, songs etc to provide a bit of relief after some of the horror stories we detail on this substack. Endpieces was run by Tenaciously Terfin, Liz Parker and myself and we are delighted to now have been joined by Becca Shambles, Petal and Jeremy Wickins. Please let us know if you want to join the Endpieces Club 😊
I have an Endpieces folder so Endpieces suggestions can be sent to me at any time from now even though Terf Island Discs will definitely be going into the new year 😊
Back to Terf Island Discs. Several readers have chosen up to 8 songs or pieces of music each and we are going through those one at a time in each update. We are going to continue it one further time before returning to Endpieces and you can now choose up to 10 songs or pieces of music each. They need to be reasonably short. We can’t expect to have readers listening to the whole of Holst’s The Planets, albeit it is magnificent.
They don’t have to be from Terf Island BTW - anywhere in the world 😊
So for those who have already chosen 8, please choose 2 more and, if you have not yet taken part, please choose 10!! And if you have chosen from 1 to 7 so far, please top that up to 10. If you repeat a song or piece of music that has already been chosen, I’ll let you know and you can choose another one.
Please let us have a link if you can.
Please send your choices to the comments section here:
