I’m also working on my submission about puberty blockers in NZ, and not finding it easy. As Garwhoungle says, the lobbyists for puberty blockers are fat from govt funding, and will attempt to block any reform of how they’re prescribed with well-practised manoeuvres.
In fact, in the end I think it will be fairly simple. I know that others have referred to Cass comprehensively, but I find mine going in a different direction. Whether or not I publish it on my blog remains to be seen, depending on whether I think it's worthwhile reading for anyone else :-)
Thanks Dusty. I can’t believe that the NHS is carrying out barbaric cosmetic surgeries funded by the tax payer. How much more is it going to cost when the NHS is sued for the harm it has caused? It’s just one more reason for us to be called a disgrace…. not down to us as you say, purely down to the idiocy and ideological arrogance of people in power thinking they know best.
Another example is the Labour Party’s attempt to pull the wool over our eyes by granting five local inquiries into grooming gangs. What a joke. What we need is an inquiry into the corruption that has led to this issue being covered up by politicians and others for so long. This isn’t just a few people looking the other way, it goes much deeper and Labour doesn’t want it investigated.

Sorry Dusty, just have to say RIP Dennis Law. Dad took us to matches ( even though he was a City fan!) when we were children so I’ve seen him live alongside Best, Charlton etc many times. The electricity that ran through the crowd when he got the ball was incredible despite Best being on the pitch and the chant was always ‘give it to Law’ which I can still sing.
My mate worked in Manchester when he was a young man and walked into a pub one Friday night ( the night before the game, of course!!!). Dennis and George were in the corner surrounded by admirers. My mate stationed himself at the bar next to an attractive young lady and shouted out 'Alright, George, alright, Dennis' She was very impressed that he knew Law and Best. What a rascal eh?
George and Dennis were magicians. I support QPR and we had a magician back then - Rodney Marsh - remember him? Here he is scoring a hat trick against B'ham City 😁 Dusty
😂 very clever. My husband bumped into George Best shortly before he died and they had a coffee together. They phoned me and I think I nearly deafened him, I was so excited. I got his autograph once but seem to have lost it.
yes I remember Marsh, I’ve always been a huge football fan although I don’t like all the posturing and ego in the Premier league these days.
As you know I mainly follow the Irish rugby team now ( 6 Nations coming up😃 ) but vaguely keep an eye on QPR ( mid table Championship - that'll do!!) . Rodney was succeeded by Stanley Bowles (RIP) at no 10. Stanley was also a magician but a goalhanger. I've seen him, when we have been defending a long time, go over to the crowd to have a drag off someone's fag!
