MUSING
By Siobhan
Just a little one especially for today......... 20th January Musings. I'm not working. I shall be listening to the news of those executive orders. Mondays are always a whirlwind for me, packed with tasks and meetings that seem to stretch the hours into oblivion. It's not uncommon for me to find myself still hunched over my desk, the clock ticking past midnight, as I wrestle with the day's demands. But today, something feels different; the air tastes of change, and with it comes a breath of fresh sanity. Today, instead of succumbing to the siren call of my inbox, I've decided to heed the whisper of something far more enticing.
The work can wait, for once, as I choose to celebrate a moment of collective clarity, a reinstatement of sanity in a world that declared war on childhood for a decade. With the soft click of my laptop closing, I reach for the bottle of wine, its cool glass a promise of relaxation. Pouring a generous glass, I toast not just to the end of another day but to the beginning of an era where reason prevails, children will be children again, pornographic books will be removed from the class room, women will be women in their places and spaces. Here's to sanity, to peace ( I think now we will get peace in the world) and I will enjoy the simple pleasure of ending work early today, knowing that sanity is returning, as my only deadline.
Hear hear to that Siobhan, especially for the children. 🥂
Cheers
