Lord Justice Sedley in Redmond-Bate v Director of Public Prosecutions [1999] EWHC Admin 733:
'Free speech includes not only the inoffensive but the irritating, the contentious, the eccentric, the heretical, the unwelcome and the provocative provided it does not tend to provoke violence. Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having. What Speakers' Corner (where the law applies as fully as anywhere else) demonstrates is the tolerance which is both extended by the law to opinion of every kind and expected by the law in the conduct of those who disagree, even strongly, with what they hear.
From the condemnation of Socrates to the persecution of modern writers and journalists, our world has seen too many examples of state control of unofficial ideas.'
I am back from doing my mate’s garden and already swamped with stuff, so I thought I would get a quick update out especially on the situation in Irish schools that has blown up recently and also covering a couple of other issues. This one is very video based ( since I can do gardening and listen to videos at the same time) 😄
I couldn’t really do an Aussie Heroes season without mentioning Mad Max!! However I have chosen George Miller’s sequel, The Road Warrior (1981) where we’re plunged headlong into the war-riddled Wasteland. Mel Gibson’s lone wolf, driven half-mad by the slaughter of his family, becomes the myth most know him to be as he battles marauders in his supercharged V8.
Thanks as ever to two wonderful readers for suggested pieces.
Moira Deeming - Part 6.
As readers know I have been following this trial in detail. Glinner has now waded in. This is very entertaining.
The Irish SPHE Scandal
I have been covering this very important development in Ireland over the last two updates and I am delighted to have discovered the wonderful organisation Natural Women’s Council Ireland. Their website is here:
https://www.naturalwomenscouncil.ie/
Let’s start with Ben Scallan of Gript seeing just how many times Education Minister Norma Foley can avoid answering the question. In the end you just have to take it that she does think that a child can ‘change genders’!!
Eddie Hobbs on the podcast Counterpoint does a brilliant and very illuminating interview with Jana Lunden of the Natural Women’s Council ( who interviewed Mary Creedon, of course).
And, from Natural Women’s own channel here is a good analysis of Queer Theory and how it is invading classrooms.
I have another great video I am working through, dear readers - more to come!!
I am looking forward to the Irish General Election next year!
Irish Hate Speech Bill
I have been going on for a long time about this totalitarian Bill. To take one example:
https://dustymasterson.substack.com/p/thought-crime-irish-style
Ben Scallan of Gript ( what would we do without Gript in Ireland!!??) is back in action grilling Justice Minister, Helen McEntee who says that, if the Government win next year’s election, they will bring in the Bill as it stands. Whoops, I think she just shot herself in the foot - and please see above re schools!
Jester On Fire
Three excellent pieces recently from Barry Wall, in case you have missed them.
A very important employment case before the UK Court of Appeal:
A great win in America!
Barry is doing a series looking at support for parents and starting with Our Duty, so do keep an eye open for future videos ( also available on his substack) which will also deal with Bayswater Support and Safe Schools Alliance.

Continuing the Irish theme…

Wow! chilling. Thank you.
Fantastic work by Gript and the National Women’s Council. Those videos are incredibly useful in explaining the background to gender ideology and how the sexualisation of children is a direct consequence of Queer ideology. Really great to see pushback in Ireland and 🤞for the election.
As a child I wanted to dance like that and be an opera singer. That would have been an interesting combination. 😄 Thanks Dusty.
