Thanks for your comprehensive update, Dusty & so glad you enjoyed the training sessions. I’ve put this on X to the usual suspects so you’ll be re-tweeted several times. (Can’t really say re-Xd!) you’ll shortly be receiving some choice end pieces.

It sounds very much like we're on the same page when it comes to teaching/training, Dusty. It should be a learning experience for the group *and* the leader. I've never found it impossible to fit in at least a few questions, even in a lecture, and frequently had to think hard about the answers (even resorting to "I don't know, but I'll find out and let you know" on some occasions!

I wish I could be in Oldham this weekend, but family comes first.

I hadn't thought about Mary Whitehouse for a long time until two or three years ago, when I found myself having to re-evaluate what I thought I knew about her. I was but a callow youth when she was at the height of her notoriety, and it never occurred to me to do any fact-checking. Mary was obviously a very intelligent and clear thinker, and a worthy honorary TERF.

I'm glad I'm not the only one concerned by "The Wild Robot". I came away from it feeling like I'd been manipulated. It is as if the studio was practicing sleight-of-hand on the audience; "Look over here, there's nothing happening over there". There were mothers of animal species, but they were not as good as the anthropomorphic robot at bringing up their young. The message it sent to me was "Mothering/parenting is a series of tasks that can't be done properly by messy flesh and blood." It won't be going into my list of favourite movies!

Lastly, it continues to amaze me how men - even you and I - are not told to go away and boil our heads by women we interact with. There should be much more anger directed to men in general.

Right - shutting up now!
