The first ever Standing for Women event outside of London was in Nottingham. The trans rights activists (TRAs) were out in force then and trying to drown out the women by making lots of noise. The women started chanting ‘let women speak’ which is where the new name for the group came from.
One of the group of women organising today’s event phoned up a police officer who said they could not hold back the TRAs. She recorded the conversation and Kellie-Jay played it on her channel. See further below.
So LWS returned to Nottingham today. When my wife and I turned up at the square, the TRAs had completely taken over Speakers’ Corner ( where we were meant to be) and had drums going and were chanting and making a hell of a lot of noise. The LWS crew were therefore setting up at the bottom of the square.
Eventually the TRAs (I would estimate some 200 or more in number) started coming down towards us led by drummers. There were police on the outskirts of the square but they didn’t stop the TRAs completely surrounding us. My wife and I were very worried that this was going to turn into another Albert Park. Some of us Terfs placed ourselves around the outside to try and stop any TRAs getting through. My wife witnessed a scuffle when a TRA grabbed a Let Women Speak poster. I moved directly to the left of KJK as you watch it on the livestream and my wife was a bit further around. I had to stand in the way of a couple of people who tried to get through.
A handful of police officers eventually turned up but not enough to push back the howling TRAs. KJK tried to keep going but was being drowned out so, as she promised she we would do ( see her video below), she marched us to the nearest police station and set up there. There didn’t appear to be any police in the station though a few eventually stood at either end of our group ( we were bounded by the police station on one side and a building site on the other). The TRAs didn’t seem to follow us and now we could hear the excellent speeches. It was freezing cold though.
Lots of us then went to a pub called The Castle. After we arrived the sign in the photo below appeared on the bar. My wife and me left after one drink but were later informed that several such signs and rainbow flags appeared on the bar and eventually the remaining LWS attendees ( not sure if that included KJK who was there when we left) were refused any further service.
You can catch sight of me at about 15 to 16 mins and then just after the one hour mark when we were at the police station. Black cromby, black wooly hat, my wife’s suffragette scarf and rucksack. You might notice me in the earlier shots looking around me because I was ultra aware that one of the nutters could come in from any angle.
This is my 7th LWS and definitely the worst in terms of intimidation and total failure by the police despite them being clearly warned in advance. What wonderful women though - what an inspiration to all of us!
The next video includes the recording of the phone conversation with the police officer
Well, we are now home safe! Here are some photos.
Well done to all the speakers and all who attended and all of you LWS supporters and all who watched it on the livestream.
We will win!!!

Thank you (and your wife) for standing with women, Dusty. Troons and TRAs are incredibly unstable and volatile. Our safety is an absolute lottery when we’re anywhere near them. It beggars belief that those who don’t go along with troon beliefs are the unwelcome ones. I’m glad you and your wife got home physically unharmed.
Unfortunately, I’m barely surprised at the complete indifference demonstrated by the captured police ‘service’ or the intimidation & nasty behaviour of troons; it’s what we’ve come to expect. Shout out to the brave women who spoke up & to the men who supported them. Huge thanks to KJK for organising the #LWS at Nottingham & the courage she showed in going ahead with it, despite the utter disregard for women’s safety from the police & the menace from the TRAs. And thanks to you & your wife, Dusty, for being there & for this report on the proceedings. Glad you’re all safe. #BeMorePorcupine. #EndGenderAffirmingCare #AdultHumanFemale #LetWomenSpeak #ByeByeStonewall #GenderEnder #NeverSurrender
