Once again, there is so much news and analysis to bring you, dear readers, that I am splitting this into two parts.
This substack is read across 22 countries and 23 US States. Including California! There are Terfs in California!!! 😄
Now that I am retired and (obviously) without a salary any longer, it would greatly assist my hard work in putting together these updates if you could consider becoming a paid subscriber or else buy me a coffee. Thanks to my paid subscribers and to those who donate via buy me a coffee. Thanks to all subscribers for your support. There are always good discussions in the comments so please get involved in those. I will be doing sporadic ‘one off’ pieces for paid subscribers.
I have done an estimate of my time taken reading pieces and listening to interviews and podcasts and then constructing the updates as compared to the payments I receive. I estimate I am getting £2.62p per hour. This does not compare favourably to the minimum wage in the UK which is currently £11.44p per hour! Obviously I am not owed a wage by anyone but you get my drift!
I have quite a few films left in the Readers’ Series but I am looking ahead to the next series. I celebrated Trump’s gender or gender related executive orders here:
https://dustymasterson.substack.com/p/a-manifesto
To further celebrate them, I am inviting nominations for The Best Western Of All Time - two nominations per reader allowed ( strangely - or at least I find it strange 😁 - no Westerns were nominated in the previous Best Films vote!?). To get the ball rolling, my nominations are Once Upon A Time In The West and Dead Man.
As a taster here is one of my favourite scenes from The Outlaw Josey Wales.
If I figure this right, we’re facing the sun!
A message from my Assistant:
‘Please donate to Dusty so that I can improve my living conditions. I am currently living in a box.’
Dusty: ‘You are not living in a box!’
Assistant: ‘Sssh! Don’t tell them!’
Thanks to two wonderful readers for suggested pieces.
Some of the linked pieces below may be behind a paywall.
Dusty’s substack - the raison d'être.
My wife and I peaked in 2019. From then on I educated myself on the subject of ‘gender ideology’ and the linked issue of free speech by reading books, reading substacks, listening to You Tubers etc. I set up this substack in February 2023 by which stage I felt I was sufficiently expert ( in general terms) about these subjects ( plus I was beginning to scale down my full time employment). So those are the main agenda items for this substack but a recent discussion in the comments to a piece dealt with ‘other related issues’ which include:
Critical Race Theory. Often goes hand in hand with critical social justice and gender ideology.
The grooming gangs scandal. A scandal involving children which bears comparison to the scandal of so called ‘gender affirming care.’ It is vital, I feel, to keep this issue in the headlines since it has previously been forgotten about.
Surrogacy. Clearly a women’s rights issue.
The Assisted Suicide Bill. I am obliged to Tenaciously Terfin for providing me with the link here: “…assisted suicide appears to be part of the whole movement of humans ‘playing God’….surrogacy, changing sex, attempting to grow babies from skin cells etc. It is therefore worth an occasional mention as part of the process where we are indoctrinating children into thinking that life can be bought and sold, that it’s easily expendable, that it can be changed and reconfigured at will, like a pick and mix store.”
However, I am not an expert on these related issues. I will generally intend to simply provide links to any good articles or interviews I come across on these matters and leave my readers to decide whether they want to access these. Obviously I may expand on a matter if I think it is pertinent to the main agenda items. Free speech, for example, encompasses all of the above.
All thoughts gratefully received.
UK - National Health Service
This could be good news IF it leads to a slashing of the DEI ( see further below) bureaucracy. We shall see!
Ashley Cowburn & Sophie Huskisson in The Mirror ( Keir Starmer announces he is abolishing NHS England in major shake-up 13 March) report:
Keir Starmer has announced he is abolishing NHS England to put the health service "back at the heart of government".
In a major speech, the Prime Minister said the move would bring NHSE "back into democratic control" in a huge reorganisation. He said there was too much duplication between the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and NHSE. The agency will now be brought back into the DHSC.
Mr Starmer said the move will "cut bureaucracy" and allow ministers to focus on slashing record waiting lists and delivering for patients. He added: "I don't see why decisions about £200billion of taxpayer money, on something as fundamental as the NHS, should be taken by an arms length body. Today has got to be a line in the sand for all of us".

Germany - Puberty Blockers
The situation in Germany is very bad. I reported previously on the demonstration outside the German Embassy in London which I attended:
https://dustymasterson.substack.com/p/lasst-frauen-sprechen?utm_source=publication-search
On his substack, Gender Clinic News Bernard Lane deals with the situation in Germany with regard to puberty blockers for children in two parts ( the first report is from Florian Zepf).
They were warned
Young people may be harmed as a result of Germany's new treatment guideline
Mar 13, 2025
Florian Zepf
The new S2k German-language guideline—on Gender Incongruence and Gender Dysphoria in Childhood and Adolescence: Diagnosis and Treatment—has been finalised and published. It has undergone a few changes since the draft release in March 2024, but most of these adjustments have been rather minor.
One very recent change is that the guideline now suggests clinicians distinguish between stable “gender incongruence” and temporary “gender non-contentedness” in minors, but it doesn’t give any specific criteria on how to differentiate these two groups in advance—nor is it clear with what validity this actually could be done. In making this novel distinction, the new guideline uses a flawed line of reasoning and ignores important evidence.
We know from a recent study of health insurance data that even when the diagnosis of gender incongruence is believed to be correct by the clinician, it still does not persist in the majority of cases just a few years later. After five years, only 36.4 per cent still had a confirmed diagnosis, and a diagnostic persistence lower than 50 per cent was detected across all the age groups studied (27.3 per cent for 15-19-year-old females, and 49.7 per cent for 20-24-year-old males).
Therefore, the entire line of argumentation as to which minors should receive puberty blocking medications and/or cross-sex hormones is based on an unclear differentiation that cannot be applied in clinical practice. There are no valid criteria that one could use to adequately identify these particular groups in advance, and gender incongruence as a diagnosis in young people is not as stable as outlined in these guidelines.
Dusty - I would say that ‘gender incongruence’ or ‘gender dysphoria’ is actually a symptom and not the cause ( see Dr Miriam Grossman In Trans Nation ).

A new German treatment guideline spurns Europe's shift to caution on paediatric gender medicine
Mar 13, 2025
Germany’s new “affirmation-only” treatment guideline for the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones goes beyond the weak evidence base, may lead to vulnerable young people suffering harm and should be withdrawn, according to prominent child and adolescent psychiatrist Professor Florian Zepf.
The new S2k German-language guideline—on Gender Incongruence and Gender Dysphoria in Childhood and Adolescence—was published earlier this month and is intended for use in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
But Professor Zepf, who directs the Clinic of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at Germany’s Jena University Hospital, believes many practitioners regard the guideline as “highly problematic” and will not adopt its treatment recommendations.
“It is still not too late to withdraw these guidelines and revise them in the light of actual medical evidence,” he writes in an opinion article for GCN.
“The responsibility for addressing these serious shortcomings and upholding the fundamental medical principle of ‘First, do no harm’ rests with those who developed and approved this very problematic guideline.”
Professor Zepf was a member of the guideline development group but left because of professional and ethical concerns.
The guideline process had been led since 2017 by the German Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (DGKJP) but the project’s dogmatic “gender-affirming” direction and a 2024 draft document provoked criticism and dissent.
Since 2019, multiple systematic reviews of the evidence undertaken in Europe have challenged the confident promotion of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones as a safe and effective response to gender distress in minors. As a result, Finland, Sweden and the UK have adopted more cautious, less medicalised treatment policies.
In response to last year’s draft for the S2k guideline, the 126th German Medical Assembly passed a resolution in which the German Medical Association called on the country’s federal government to restrict puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and trans surgery for minors to ethically controlled clinical trials with at least ten years’ follow-up.
Such warnings appeared to have little influence on the guideline development group.

Canada - The Story of Vancouver Rape Relief
On her substack Til Sex Do Us Part, Terf Vibes reports on the amazing story ( recently featured in a series by Julie Bindel) of Vancouver Rape Relief and what happened in 1995 when a larping man walked through their door. Fast Forward to the Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre last year!!!!
Bad not mad
A response to Julie Bindel's 'Rise UP' series on Canada's oldest rape crisis/relief centre and its ongoing fight to remain a feminist, women-only organisation
Mar 14, 2025

At first I thought they had drawn the bread as well as the TWAW mantra and incitement to kill TERFS, and was wondering what it was supposed to signify — men can bake too?? 🥴 — with the dead rat there to show they can also multitask like real women in baking, catching rats and carpentry. But, no. These buggers are far too proud and entitled to try and actually persuade women they have more on their minds than violence against any woman who tries to stand in their way. While in using ‘TERF’ of course, they also show they know what a woman is, as well as knowing the power men have over women in their long demonstrated capacity for violent rage against any woman who says no to them.
Late last year Julie Bindel, with the support of the Vancouver Lesbian Collective, travelled to Canada to report on the history of this old and pivotal rape crisis centre and TERF battleground. She interviewed the centre’s long-term manager Lee Lakeman, who stood her ground and would not allow her women-only service to be infiltrated by a man claiming to be a woman, unlike many other women running such centres around the western world who have allowed these men who claim they are women into their former safe spaces for female victims of male violence.
Before Lee succumbed to cancer in December last year she told the story of the Vancouver Rape Relief centre from its inception in 1975 to today for Julie’s four-part podcast series on Canada’s oldest rape crisis centre ‘Rise Up’. These podcasts brilliantly testify to what one strong woman with clear feminist principles, a working class background and no higher education can do — albeit with a fair bit of sisterhood help — to make a massive difference in the fight for women’s sex based rights, recovery, and ultimate liberation from male violence, as well as being an inspiration to other strong women to rise up and fight for their rights, much as Bindel herself also is.
As Julie explains in Rise Up, the trouble all started for VRR in 1995 when a man claiming to be a woman turned up at the centre offering his services as a volunteer counsellor.

Australia - Lesbian Action Group
LAG applied to the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) for a five-year exemption under section 44 of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth) (SD Act), so that it could organise public events exclusively for lesbians. The exemption was sought so that LAG could exclude people of the opposite sex, and those who are not lesbians.
The AHRC rejected LAG’s application.
LAG appealed to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and their appeal was unsuccessful. They are now appealing further. Kelly Dougall on her excellent podcast interviews Nicole Mowbray of the LAG.
The States - The Frontal Lobotomy Party!
You would have thought that the Democrats would have learnt their lesson by now! It appears not! Act for America report on their substack:
All Sex Locker Rooms!
US Senate and UC Davis Betray Women!
Mar 11, 2025
We thought the Left had taken this Title IX abuse too far, but they are just getting started. Their latest scheme is “All-Sex” spaces where privacy and decency are a thing of the past!
Not under our watch! Click Here to Donate Now>>
Senate Democrats have spit in the face of 67% of their party and 64% of Independents who strongly support banning transgender athletes from women’s sports. Last Tuesday, not a single Democrat in the U.S. Senate voted to break a filibuster on the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act—Republicans needed 60 votes but got just 51. That same day, Minnesota’s House lawmakers shot down the Preserving Girls’ Sports Act, with every Democrat in the state voting no.
This Title IX defiance has unleashed a reckless tidal wave, emboldening UC Davis [ University of California Davis] to charge headlong into a progressive Marxist fantasy—ditching men’s and women’s locker rooms for “universal” all-sex spaces.
UC Davis (58.4% are female students) announced plans to convert its men’s and women’s locker rooms at its recreation centers into ‘universal’ all-sex locker rooms stating, “We value inclusive, accessible environments that accommodate the diverse needs of our community. We are pleased to announce that we will be remodeling the current locker room facilities to implement universal locker rooms.” Further promising that “all campus recreation members can use our universal locker rooms, regardless of who they are or how they identify. These spaces are inclusive of members with disabilities and members of all gender identities.” The University plans to spend five million dollars to rip out common sense to install “inclusiveness” which overrides privacy, decency, and safety.
Jennifer @babybeginner posted: I’d really like to know. Are there ANY women who would go shower and change in a locker room with men? Why even have a locker room? Just put the lockers in the middle of the quad. If everyone is changing in front of everyone, what’s the point?
Anti-Trumper tennis legend Martina Navratilova didn’t mince words: “This is beyond f—– up! Be prepared to lose a lot of women to this insanity.” [Dusty - well, I’m sorry, Martina, but you shouldn’t have voted Democrat!!]

New Zealand - Diversity Equity and Inclusion.
You can move the letters around as you like it seems. DEI. DIE. EDI. However you never see IDE which is a shame because then I could have said ‘Beware The IDEs of March’ (and April and May….). Don’t know what I’m talking about - see at the end of this piece.
As we know, DEI ( or whatever way around) is used to embed, amongst other things, gender ideology into organisations. Our friend, Katrina Biggs on her substack, AB’Old Woman reports on DEI in NZ and there is a bit of good news!!
The stupid amount of money we spend on DEI and teaching kink to 'trans', whilst better causes go begging - give me a break!
How much exactly are we spending on DEI and funding for neo-rainbow groups, and what exactly are the benefits?
Mar 13, 2025
A while ago, I wrote something about the stupidity of intelligent people, which featured a woman and the organisation she worked at. However, we know that there have been a multitude of university graduates in the last few decades who’d also fit the same description. They have come away indoctrinated with woke bollox that obviously looks great on paper, and have disseminated said bollox throughout as much of our government, Councils, Public Service, and society that they can, with no evidence whatsoever there’s any substance to it. Despite that, it gets talked up a storm - and the talk is where most of the proclaimed merit appears to lie.
It’s given rise to well-paid nonsense-jobs, and the funding of dubious-as-feck programmes and projects. The latest of these projects which has come to light has been exposed by a group called Better Wellington, who’ve revealed that the Wellington City Council has given $170,000 over three years to a neo-rainbow outfit named Gender Minorities to run an online sex course for ‘transgender’ people. In this course, they teach about BDSM - Bondage and Discipline, Domination and Submission - which includes kinks like being urinated on, and suturing. Suturing??
The full piece, including the bit of good news, is here:
The IDEs of March?
Soothsayer to Julius Caesar ( in Shakespeare’s play); “ Beware the Ides of March.”
A bit later in the play:
Caesar: ‘The Ides of March are come.”
Soothsayer: “Ay, Caesar; but not gone.”
The Ides of March was 15 March, the day Julius Caesar was killed.
Dog Whistles
I don’t think I’ve featured a piece about dog whistles before. They are beloved of trans rights activists, of course. This is despite the fact that they don’t exist. Well, apart from for dogs. Dogs go Woof Woof. Wokesters go Woo Woo.
Andrew Doyle deals with this on his substack.
‘Dog whistles’ are not real
Anyone who assumes that their opponents are speaking in code is just squabbling with phantoms.
Mar 13, 2025
The accusation of ‘dog whistling’ is one of the most common of activist tactics. The metaphor suggests that someone is disguising their objectionable views by sending signals that only the likeminded will register, much as human beings remain oblivious to the higher sound frequencies that dogs are able to hear. As an argumentative strategy, it must rank among the most infantile. It is the equivalent of saying: ‘I know you haven’t said the nasty thing, but I’m going to pretend that you secretly meant the nasty thing’. It is akin to when social justice activist Titania McGrath argued that J. K. Rowling’s chief tactic was ‘to not attack trans people in order to make it look as though she is not attacking trans people’.
Last September, Telegraph writer Oliver Brown referred to Blair Hamilton, a trans-identified goalkeeper for Sutton United Women, as a ‘biological male’. This happened to be a matter of fact, but that didn’t prevent Hamilton from making a complaint to the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) and claiming that the phrase ‘biological male’ was a ‘transphobic dog whistle’. Hamilton preferred the phrase ‘assigned male at birth’, even though his sex had been recorded at birth, not assigned. This was an attempt not only to compel speech, but to weaponise the regulations so that journalists would have to tell lies in deference to a belief-system they do not share. This week, IPSO thankfully ruled that news outlets are allowed to refer to men as men.

My long experience of cats is that a cardboard box is much better if it is as pristine as possible!
You’d think the Germans would have realised by now that by falling in behind an insane and authoritarian ideology which demands total compliance, wasn’t exactly a good idea. At the very least, free speech and the questioning of ideas should be at the pinnacle of every Party manifesto.
Talking of insane……the Democrats ‘all sex changing rooms’. 😳
Good description of the substack Dusty but I’m thinking of reporting you to the RSPCA. There’s no blanket in that box.
Thanks Dusty. #BeMorePorcupine
