Golden Duck
Update 21
For those who don’t follow or understand cricket, a ‘golden duck’ refers to when the batter is bowled out with the first ball delivered to him or her. I think it is very appropriate for the England and Wales Cricket Board!
Oliver Brown in the Telegraph ( English cricket adds controversial 'Genderbread Person' to inclusive language guide 02 March) reports that:
The England and Wales Cricket Board has included the controversial “genderbread person” diagram in its latest guide on inclusive language, using an annotated and widely-ridiculed image of a gingerbread man presenting the idea that biological sex is a spectrum and that babies are “assigned” a gender at birth.
The ECB has come under fire in recent weeks for its policy around ‘transgender inclusion’, after The Telegraph revealed the concerns over a trans identifying male playing against girls as young as 12. The Equality and Human Rights Commission has stated that there should be no legal barrier to cricket banning ‘transgender players’ from female competition due to safety concerns.
Here is my considered analysis of the ECB: BOLLOCKS! ( Sorry, my sensitivity reader is currently on holiday).
The Media
I am sorry that I have to rely on a lot of reports and articles from such as The Telegraph and the Daily Mail but, on these issues, they provide good, sound coverage and actually cover the issues. Papers like the Guardian and Independent are just off with the Woo Woo and tend to ignore those things that are happening which go against their world view . In a recent article the Independent suggested that the re-writing of Roald Dahl’s books wasn’t such a big deal!
United Response goes Woo Woo
United Response is a charity that supports people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs, at home and in the community.
In the latest Glinner update, Graham publishes an excellent letter written by a reader to United Response relating to an article published by them to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month ( since the sensitivity reader is on leave - PAH!): https://grahamlinehan.substack.com/p/united-response-has-fallen
The reader worries that he is not a lawyer. I don’t think a lawyer could have written a better letter.
Such a Drag
Following the lead of Tennessee, Republican lawmakers have advanced a bill aimed at putting limits on drag shows in public spaces in Kentucky.
The fight back is really happening at last in the States!
KJK Down Under
The latest video is up from KJK and is recommended, in advance of her trip Down Under. The trip is clearly very expensive so please give generously. Her American film, also available on her channel, shows how important this work is.

For the (understandably) missing footage of the shocking New York event (which KJK was prevented from getting to) , see the video on the marvellous Known Heretic’s channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idD8-CjwKYg
The Known Heretic (aka Amy Sousa) features in Kellie-Jay in the USA blocking a TRA who is attempting to attack the speaker at the Tacoma Rally. It occurs when the first speaker is on at about 50 mins in (see below). The first speaker is 50 mins in because there is a discussion online beforehand.
Until next time, Terven. It isn’t over yet. Please subscribe for free, like and comment.
