After a long day on the paid work, I was listening to Kellie-Jay talking about certain women on the left complaining about the Let Women Speak events and people on the right. I agree with KJK that we need a broad church if we are going to win this and it is brilliant how she lets ordinary women stand up and speak out, giving some of the most brilliant and moving speeches. That is the way forward.
This made my addled brain ( completely addled today because of lots of computer problems at work) come in from a different angle and I thought of what I think is a brilliant movie, American History X. The main character is a violent Nazi who eventually ends up in prison. Inside he befriends a black man and eventually sees the error of his ways ( sounds twee but it is very well done). When he is released he has to try and stop his younger brother heading in the same direction as him.
I know we don’t want Nazis in our movement ( of course!!) but it just shows how discussion and debate can change someone’s direction. I think of the young woman (with black paint on her face) who was talking to Billboard Chris, before he was attacked, about whether puberty blockers were reversible or not. She was actually beginning to think and listen. Her ‘friends’ quickly ended that discussion ( it’s at this Glinner Update https://grahamlinehan.substack.com/p/when-visibility-becomes-violence There are lots of videos but it’s the post from Billboard Chris that begins ‘Around in circles we go’ at about 5.17).
So, anyway, Broad Church and keep on talking!!

Thanks Dusty, completely agree with you about speech and debate being the key to changing minds, hearing other viewpoints etc. it’s why I said in a recent ‘Graham’ post that free speech was the key to this fight. If our freedom to speak truthfully is curtailed in law or through threat of cancellation or through fear of abuse, then it becomes very difficult to fight evil or misinformation. Look at how ‘no debate’ has worked so far. It’s allowed gender ideology to spread insidiously so that it’s tentacles are now wrapped around every institution, making it very difficult to remove and destroy. KJK is right to stick to her principles and she’s brave to stand up to the naysayers.

Billboard Chris is another very brave person who gets abuse from some on the GC side.
